You can imagine the flood of emotion and pride when I looked on Family Search for the first time as a BYU student and realized I descended from English royalty. Then everyone else in the class did the same thing. Not so special.

Yes, I also took BOM, Church History, New Testament, D&C. 14 religion credit hours are required. My fav was Stephen Robinson's New Testament class.

While in Jr High in the midwest, my social studies teacher assigned a class project related to genealogy and we had to provide a 4 generation chart. That just wasn't good enough for my mother and I was sent to school packing my Book of Rememberence complete with a large folded out paper of a few lines all the way back to Adam. Only the SS teacher found it interesting and she quickly deduced I was LDS. The rest of the class thought Mormons were weird.

That may answer the question of why only white American and Europeans are called as apostles. If they called a minority the chances of having their geneology complete to Adam are slim to none. I am glad to learn that nepotism geneology helps to decide who becomes an apostle of the lord.

To some degree. Not as much as you are the carbon of the Earth though. I forget what scripture that is.

                        • I learned that one of the 4 year olds in my class was late for church today because as he put it, his mom "is on her period and was throwing fits this morning". With 4-5 year old kids, there are no family secrets.
