    • I learned that at judgment day, we will have to show our family history books and our ancestors will testify about the work we did (or didn't) do.

Creaky old family history zealots are my favorite kind.

Not in our ward, but I guess with Easter next week and General Conference in 2 weeks it might make sense to have Fast Sunday today.

Probably because next week is Easter and the following week is General Conference. We have Fast Sunday the following week.

We had a fabulous mission report from an elder just back from Mexico. But we also had a high counselor warn us that he would be speaking next week, so we should study up beforehand.

I know they're not mutually exclusive but if it's about either helping a living person or a dead one, call me crazy but I think you gotta go with the one who's still alive. I learned that from The Walking Dead.

Good catch. I thought it was a good article, too. I actually used that one for my home teaching lesson.

              • I learned that Christ was born on April 6, 1. I guess John Whitmer was a prophet.

                • Was able to pass the sacrament with my newly ordained Deacon. I learned that I'm a big crybaby and that Sister Nielsen does not appreciate teary eyed fathers getting the sacrament bread soggy.

And that D&C 20:1 should be taken literally?

The teacher asked the question as to why April 6 was so significant. The question bounced around the room until someone finally took the Talmage stance and said it was because April 6 was when Christ was born, which is proved out by D&C 20:1. The teacher seemed pleased at this response, which was probably where she was going in the first place. I leaned over to MJ and told her that D&C 20:1 was not part of the actual revelation, to which she told me to be quiet. I obliged.

And no one brought up Pope Benedict XVI's new book? Maybe this is the real reason why he resigned.

                          • I learned that the reason the sacrament bread has tasted really weird the last month is because it is gluten free. We have a number of celiacs in our ward who usually brought their own gluten free bread in plastic and a deacon would seek them out with their own special tray. I guess it was decided that this was too much trouble so it is gluten free for everyone now.

Just start bringing some cinnamon swirl bread in plastic and enlist a deacon to find you.
