My take: Allen is super weird and pervy; what he did to Soon-Yi (a much older man seducing his life partner's underage adopted daughter?????) is terrible. No getting around that. I have no idea whether Allen or Dylan is telling the truth, but what Allen did to Soon-Yi (and his general attitude toward women) seems to suggest that Dylan's accusations are not outside the realm of possibility.
Soon Yi is now 50 and happily married to Allen for over 25 years. They have two adopted daughters (how do you suppose that happened?). She was over 21 at the time. So speaking of disrespecting women, Soon Yi disagrees with you. You should defer to her.

This is really dumb logic and you know it.

Remember the school teacher that got pregnant with the 14-yr-old student? When she got out of jail she married her former student. Good for them I guess, but that doesn't erase the ugliness and inappropriateness of what happened.

The only one who's being illogical is you. Soon Yi was an adult, over 21. Not 14. Allen wasn't her father, adopted or otherwise. He never lived with Soon Yi. The only person Allen wronged was Mia, and she reacted by wrecking her family. He'd never lived with Mia, they maintained separate houses, and they weren't married. They hadn't had sex for years. Their "family " was a PR thing.

Why aren't you accepting Soon Yi's testimony that Mia abused her and her siblings and neglected them, and Soon Yi made a choice as an adult to have a relationship with Allen that has greatly benefited her? She's 50 and has multiple graduate degrees. She can speak for herself.

Nobody is claiming Mia is a saint. That is a red herring that you keep bringing up.

Sham family? Woody and Mia had a child. Woody had adopted two other kids. The fact that he maintained a separate apartment is because he insisted in maintaining his freedom - I suppose in part so he could have secret sex with Mia's daughter.

I can't believe you keep defending this.

I'm not defending him except that he didn't molest Dylan. He's been legally cleared and cleared by all the specialists who worked for the State and investigated at the time. Nor does Mia's story make any sense for a host of reasons. That ought to be the end of it, and it would be, if Mia weren't rich and powerful and Allen weren't a once cultural icon.

What he did with Soon Yi was wrong, but he wronged Mia. Soon Yi was an adult. Almost three decades later, during which time he's had a successful marriage with Soon Yi and raised two daughters with her, that should be water under the bridge.

It's not hard to see what motivates Mia. She's a loony narcissist, and can't bear that a young woman she rescued from the streets in Korea did to her what she did to Andre Previn's wife.

Do you think it's unusual for a jilted spouse or paramour to falsely accuse the former spouse or love of abuse? That's about as common as homicide between spouses and lovers. .

Everyone who was ever close to Allen except for Mia, Ronan/Satchel, and Dylan strongly defends Allen. Two of the three who are trying to destroy him were children and totally dependent on Mia when Allen jilted her. His defenders include former lovers like Diane Keaton, all three of his present and former wives including Soon Yi and Louise Lasser, Alec Baldwin, Larry David, and many others.

I cannot think of one film awesome enough that would lead me to defend the director's honor against any and all accusations of perverted behavior. I should really watch those Allen films; they must be amazing!

If the Soon Yi incident is not relevant, why are you so desperately trying to normalize it?

No, that is not unusual at all for a jilted spouse. Here are some things that are in fact unusual:

-men in their 40's having sex with 16-yr-old girls (you seem less determined to normalize this)
-men secretly having sex with their partner's daughter that is 35 years younger
-men stripping down to their underwear and getting in bed with their near-naked toddler daughters in the middle of the day (several people witnessed this)

It is entirely possible that Mia is a loony narcissist and her daughter is telling the truth about being molested by woody allen.

                      Occam's razor? Irony alert.

Oh boy. Look at you with your new woke outfit. That gives you moral authority, doesn't it--a well fed middle aged white guy in his big Alpine house should know. You keep surprising me attaining new levels of shallowness.

Actually, Woody Allen is Jewish, and very much so, and I'm sure what's partly going on here is anti-Semitism.

It's not like Mia and Ronan are under-classs.

This has nothing to do with his films. Some of us are hard-wired to defend those falsely accused and hate mendacity.

I'm still waiting for a serious statement from you. So far as I can tell you have never made one. I would not expect a doctor to be so wholly lacking in gravitas or moral calculous.
