One day I'll have to listen to Radio Head and see if I like them.

"Radio Head" is the talking heads song from whence they culled their name. It is a very good song.

You missed the point with TKOL. The jewel that is Codex is worth everything. If it takes 10 bad songs --- or even 100 -- to create a masterpiece like Codex, I'll take it. That song is transporting and so beautiful. It's been the soundtrack of my life for years. I love it.

Sorry, I meant the band you all love here (except maybe now you hate them? I can't keep up).

You missed the point w his posts. Of course TKOL isn't so bad, but those posts wouldn't mean anything if MarkGrace didn't love it so much. He's teasing.

Here's a nice little wrap-up of the speculation for those who pine for old outtakes, demos, and live versions to make the big show:

The article suggests that Follow Me Around might make the new album??

That's a pretty good rundown. Among the songs debuted on the last tour, I'm a fan of Identikit (version from Coachella is better than the one above) and Ful Stop. They took a crack at recording Identikit at Jack White's studio during their tour, and they also attempted one other song, though haven't said which. The intro and lyrics to Cut a Hole are great, but that song needs a ton of work right now. Just not terribly interesting. Skirting on the Surface seemed to have so much potential when Thom played it solo, but the band version is an absolute snooze (other than the outro, which is great). I love that snippet of Wake Me, but in a fan interview a couple years ago Colin didn't even remember the thing. Can't imagine it's much on the radar, though once Colin remembered he said he was a big fan of the song. The Present Tense has been one of the most eagerly anticipated songs in a while. They worked on it a lot on the tour before TKOL, but it never seem to surface as part of those sessions (in all likelihood because it didn't fit with what they were doing on TKOL). Thom said on a reddit chat last year that fans will hear it, and Jonny told NME in an interview a couple years ago that The Present Tense and Burn the Witch are the songs he's most excited about finishing.

Come To Your Senses I've never been a big fan of, but I know Thom said in an interview during the last tour that they have a version ready to record. I Lie Awake and Riding the Bullet have always been difficult to hear from those soundchecks that have been floating around for years, and Open the Floodgates I'm not much of a fan (at least in the best recorded solo version; the band soundchecks are similarly difficult to hear). I love Follow Me Around and would love to finally see a recorded version of it. I know they attempted it with both In Rainbows and TKOL, so who knows if they'll give it another go. Another old one that's been kicking around is Lift (version from Pinkpop is one of the best Radiohead songs never to get recorded), as Thom played that in some soundchecks during the Atoms for Peace tour.

There are some other things floating around from Thom and Jonny's solo work that I hope get some love. Thom did this thing called Transmission that I think would work really well for Radiohead and Jonny's been writing these guitar + string things that he's played with various classical ensembles. There's one called Loop that I'd love to see turned into a Radiohead song the way they did with Weird Fishes/Arpeggi (which had its debut at the Ether festival as just a strings + vocal thing). Jonny has been playing that Steve Reich piece Electric Counterpoint all over the place, and I expect that style of guitar to bleed into some of this new Radiohead stuff (Loop is very much inspired by it, and you can hear it in the Identikit guitar line as well). He's also really into Indian music right now, so maybe that will turn up as well. There's a clip from a soundcheck during the TKOL tour where they're messing around with something very Indian inspired.

Anyway, I'm excited as always, but it's a ways off. They've talked about getting together this September, which means with the way they work they'll likely get an album out in '16.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

                        I did.

Pretty sure it's for a forthcoming Thom release. Probably AfP leftovers that he was working on.

Well, Thom's got a new album and Radiohead is finishing week 1 in the studio. Busy time, I guess. Thom's album is available via BitTorrent.

Is Radiohead still working on this same album five years later? I haven't been following this thread.

are these albums terrible and stupid like TKOL? or are they worth a listen?
