Great movie - Keaton absolutely nailed that role.

We got a few episodes in and I tapped out. My wife finished it and seemed to like it.

Was this based on the ”. . .deeply probing and strikingly penetrating account. . .” by pioneering Analrapist Dr. Tobias Fünke?

        • Adolescence. Incredibly raw, brutal, difficult to watch, and all the other sobering adjectives. You will not enjoy it, and you won't have a good time watching it, but you have to see it. After you're done with it no matter what your shortcomings as a parent, you will be thankful that you're not worse..

I'm three episodes in. It's uncomfortable but an interesting glimpse into a reality that is incredibly different from my own experience. There have been some great performances by the actors.

I was blown away by the acting. I thought it couldn’t get better than episode 3, but I thought the last one was masterful.

              • The director specifically wanted a kid that had zero acting experience. If a kid had a speaking roll in their second grade production they couldn't audition. Its amazing how good of an actor that kid is. The kd and the therapist from episode 3 both deserve Emmys.

                    • Make sure you watch the little extra on how they made it. Watch it after to see if you caught the production technique they used. Absolutely astounding how they made it.

                      • My wife and I (though I more than she) thought The Residence was very entertaining. Produced by the same woman who put Bridgerton together, The Residence is nothing like that show. Rather, it's an eight-part mystery about the murder of the White House Chief Usher (Giancarlo Esposito in flashbacks) during a state dinner featurig lots of Australians. Fast paced, lots of humor, and ornithology. It definitely won't be for everyone, but you'll know a few minutes into the first episode if it's for you. Among many pleasures is Al Franken as chair of the investigating Senate Committee--nice he got back to the Senate.

This looks really good. Kind of like The Afterparty: White House.

                            • The third and final episode of American Manhunt--Osama Bin Laden is among the very best 75 minutes of television I've watched in quite a while. The first two episodes were good, if a little over-dramatized, but the last provides information and interviews with key players I hadn't heard before. Among other things, the intense preparations by Seal Team Six, including the construction of Bin Laden's house for training just a month before the mission, are stunning. Because they didn't know what the building's interior looked like, each night for two weeks the construction crew would reconfigure the rooms and doors on each floor to provide as many scenarios as possible. Admiral McRaven (head of special forces) and Robert O'Neill (who apparently shot Osama) were especially great. The sacrifices so many people made to bring Bin Laden to justice are enormous.

                              • There is a 30 minute documentary on Netflix called "The Quilters" about a program in a prison in Missouri where inmates spend days in a shop making quilts that are given to foster kids. My wife and I both loved it.
