You know, there is an option to view your character from 3rd person but I played it in first person. I tried it third for a few minutes but didn't enjoy it as much, ESP when trying to take advantage of the VATS fighting system. However, I think you indicated that you do not enjoy FP stuff, so my guess is that you are already used to playing these games in the third person. In that case, go for it. The game is entirely functional in the third person, mine was only a personal preference, not because it hindered game play. Fallout 3 is an epic game, one of my favorite of all time, actually. If you like RPGs, you will love this one. Bethesda really does them well.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I'll have to check out Fallout 3.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostYou know, there is an option to view your character from 3rd person but I played it in first person. I'm really enjoying Mass Effect (well other than driving around in the damn vehicle). It is a great game and I'm remembering how much I really like Bioware's RPGs of this style. I'm looking forward to checking through Mass Effect and moving on to Mass Effect 2. I'm probably pick up Fallout 3 when I'm done with those games.
I'm somewhat intrigued by Oblivion, but not sure if I'll give it a try or not.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Oblivion is also fantastic although now 6 yrs later the graphics engine technology will seem a little dated, specifically when engaging NPCs in conversation...the facial movement and expressions look very digital. But the storyline, the gameplay, the questing, etc. is all top notch. Fallout 3 is similar in scope, entirely different storyline, of course. The main difference between the two (besides the obvious storyline differences) is that Oblivion has a very Arthurian vibe to it. Fallout 3 is post-apocalyptic freaky scary stuff. There is a legit jump factor to many parts of F3 if you are sitting there in the dark playing the game.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'll have to check out Fallout 3.

You should be able to find discounted versions of both games in the used section of GameStop.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I finished Portal 2 this weekend. Really enjoyed this game. 2nd best game released this year behind Dead Space 2 in my opinion. The ending of the Portal 2 single player campaign was fantastic, and the co op is really good fun as well.Originally posted by DapperDan View PostFinished Portal 2 single player. Very fun. Obviously not as fresh as the original, but it continued the witty dialogue and dark sense of humor that made the first so great.
The puzzles were entertaining and some fairly challenging. The environments were spectacular and the story was pretty good too.
Now on to the co-op portion of our program.

If ME is the best game you have played, prepare to be completely blown away by ME2. I started the last DLC for it - The Arrival - today. It bridges the gap between ME2 and ME3.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostFinished Mass Effect. It is the best game I have played. I am excited play Mass Effect 2

Good to know.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDefinitely not true. Cross platforms.
I wondered about it because I saw an ad for it on tv earlier today and PS3 was the only system that I could see being mentioned."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
"I only know what I hear on the news." - Dear Leader

I'm not going to PAX this August because I opted for GDC Europe instead, which is a week or so before PAX.Originally posted by Colly Wolly View PostCool, enjoy and let us know what you see. I have attended two PAXs (Seattle in 2010 and Boston in 2011). Awesome events, and I plan on attending many more in the future.
Will definitely provide updates from LA if interested. I'm excited to see ME3 as well as the Bethesda booth....see what TES5 looks like.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
