    • Picked up Kingdoms of Amalur last week. I've played a couple of hours and really like it. It isn't better than Skyrim overall, but it does a few things better than Skyrim.

      • I liked it too, the only thing that bugs me about it is the map.

        • Couple potentially good games coming out on Tuesay to kick off the fall release line up. Sleeping Dogs and Darksiders 2. Both look intruiging to me.

Sleeping Dogs seems to be a Grand Theft Auto/open world game set in Hong Kong. You play an FBI agent sent to Hong Kong to inflitrate the Triads or something (think The Departed). This game has had a troubled development history, but a couple of surprisingly high review scores are out for this one already. Brutal hand to hand combat system where you can shove a dude's face into an air conditioner intake fan (sick!).

Darksiders 2 looks like a really good sequel to the very fun and underrated Darksiders. It's a God of War/Dante's Inferno style combo based hack and slash game. They've added a character and weapon leveling component as well as a loot system. Graphics and combat look very smooth. I recommend you pick up the first game, you can get it for very cheap and it has a ton of game (20 or so hours if I remember correctly) in there.

Not sure which one of these I'll be picking up next week, probably leaning towards Darksiders 2, and pick up Sleeping Dogs in a couple months on the cheap.

For THQ's sake I hope Darksiders 2 does well.

              • Dark Souls is now cheap on Amazon, so I decided to buy it. It is extremely difficult. It is also a good game even with the moments of frustration.

Definately one of my top games of 2011. There are some parts that are just stupid, but the game's old-school-difficulty feel is really refreshing compared to video games that are out nowadays. Not to mention the really amazing online that gives the game HUGE replayability.

I also built a new gaming computer this past week, and got a free copy of Borderlands 2 with my video card. Anyone played the first one? I've heard some pretty good things about it and I'm not sure what to expect.

                      • Has anybody played Madden '13 yet? Thoughts? I apologize in advance if it's taboo to post about sports games in this thread.

It is awesome. You have to check it out. It is SO much more different than previous Maddens. You wont even recognize it.

Awesome. My son would love that. Minecraft is actually a really cool game.

I was actually hoping someone who owns or has at least played the game would chime in, but thanks for your input anyway!
