I didn't realize they did CGI for him. I saw what was clearly edits of him from older movies of the F&F movies) placed in a manner that was very nostalgic.. At least that is what I saw.. I know his brother's actually came in and played part of his role.. They were in the ending credits..

    • My kids want to go see the avengers movie tonight so we are all going. It is going to be horrible and I am pretty confident that it will somehow manage to be even worse than the first one, which was incredibly stupid in and of itself.

On a positive note: the new avengers movie is 1 minute shorter than the original, so hopefully the faster pace is noticeable.

Maybe you can tell the kids you are going out for popcorn and see something else.

        • I went and saw the Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron last night, in spite of myself. I didn't hate the first one, but still didn't have expectations for this one. I had also been annoyed at the trend of super long fight scenes like the one in the first Avengers and Man of Steel (and the GD Hobbit ). Nonetheless, I wanted to escape to the movies b/c it's fun. I really liked this one- well written, not too much drawn out fighting, and entertaining. I also saw it on the 3D IMAX and the Star Wars teaser looks incredible on the big screen.

            • Finally saw The Theory of Everything a few days ago with my wife. What a beautiful movie. My wife sobbed through a lot of it but that's most likely due to her being in her first trimester with our second child. I don't know what my excuse was, though.

              • I liked Avengers, not so much as the first one, but still a fun run. But I'm really gonna have to watch the Thor movies. I'm missing out on the purple alien dude plot. Or so my daughter tells me.

                • Ex Machina. I saw this last night and I’m still thinking about it, which is unusual as I tend to forget most of the movies I see rather quickly. A somewhat naïve programmer is invited to spend a week with at a wealthy internet genius’s very secluded house—bunker, really—where he’s introduced to Ava, a robot, and asked to perform a week-long Turing test on her to see if there are any differences between her and a human (physical appearance notwithstanding). BTW, other than some transparent plastic arms and legs, a little mylar here and there, and a metal cap on her head, Ava is a total babe. I’ll say no more but all three actors (and there are really only three speaking parts in the movie) are great and the movie raises lots of interesting questions, including what is it that men find seductive? Where does humanity begin and end? Is the dude really going to get it on with a robot? … and deeper questions as well.

It’s littered with lots of clever pop, historical, literary and philosophical references, but doesn’t seem pretentious. I’m not sure it was intended, but the conclusion reminded me of Plato’s Cave Allegory, which I hadn’t thought of in decades. (Speaking of pretentious...)

It’s not at all an action pic, very contemplative and moody. I’d expect at least a third of those who read this wouldn’t care for the film, but I thought it was very good, and I’d be curious what others think.

I liked Hugo and about a Boy.

Regretfully, I've seen the trailer multiple times and it's hard to imagine someone saying, "Oooh, that looks good; I'm there...."
0%? Can we go for a negative number?

I have never seen zero percent before.

Some time after the movie was released, apparently a couple of drunken critics stumbled into a theater and wrote somewhat favorable reviews of Paul Blart2, skyrocketing the score to 6%--still extremely low but the movie lost its goose egg.

Do you believe we can demand a recount? Perfection. Is so rarely achieved.

                          • The new Mad Max movie is currently sitting at 99%. I can't recall anything being that high on rottentomatoes. It's the opposite of Paul Blart.

I'm kind of excited for Mad Max. The Road Warrior was the first movie I remember my dad renting for our VCR.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
