Just watched her interview on Conan. I really like her.

The Iron Lady. I was really looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint. It was surprisingly non-political in that I didn't feel like they were making a statement one way or the other on Thatcher's policies. It did a good job of explaining what helped form her ideology in the brief time available. As a fan of Thatcher I thought it was fair and of course Meryl Streep was uncanny in her resemblence to MT.

I am a Streep and a Thatcher fan so maybe that's it but I found it very enjoyable.

Thinking about taking the misses to see Extremely Loud and Terribly Close tomorrow night. Any testimonials? I've heard that it's a bit intense. My wife lived in DC during 9-11 and feels a connection to the event. She's also pregnant. What are the odds that this might be a little much for her?

We watched 50/50 last night. I thought it was kind of slow and predictable. I was making a sarcastic comment during one of the final scenes and I look at ldc and she is crying, to which I start laughing.

I guess it was mixed reviews at our house.

Saw Haywire. Really liked it.

Went and saw Red Tails this afternoon - not bad, I think I know too much about WW II air operations because it wasn't particularly realistic and I found myself nitpickign, but the computer graphics were amazing. The screen was full of B-17's and Me 109s and P-51s.

I really have to go and get some books on the 332nd and the Tuskegee Airman and read up.

I really don't get it. From what I read of your posts, you would find this terribly boring. It's a Woody Allen sweater on the holodeck of Starship Enterprise.

I'm not picking on you. I'm just surprised. The others on CUF who loved this movie--well, I'd expect them to love it based on past reviews.

The Grey. Eh. Kind of cool cinematography. A little pretentious when it delved into existentialism. Lots of swearing which bothered Mrs. NWC (it was pretty excessive). But it had its moments. Nothing to recommend seeing it on the big screen over renting it, IMO.
