That's what my daughter said when I started "Miracle on 34th Street" last night (available on Disney+). I explained that the movie starts with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, so it includes both holidays. She had no idea what the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was. I'm not sure if that should make me feel proud or embarrassed.

      That is allowable.

        • I saw the new Black Panther movie. I didn’t want to see it but my daughter loves Marvel and MJ wasn’t going to go. It might be not just the worst Marvel movie ever but maybe even the worst movie I’ve seen in a theater. It was disjointed and choppy. The overall story sucked as did the action scenes. It was also almost three hours long. You could’ve cut it in half and still it would’ve been too long for the story.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Lucky you. I always miss the first hour or so of the first football game because it is my daughters' tradition to watch the parade and then the National Dog Show Thanksgiving morning.

            • Saw a couple of sequels with the family over Thanksgiving.

A Christmas Story Christmas - It is a worthy sequel to the original which is probably my favorite Christmas movie. Lots of tributes to the original movie spread throughout and the sequel has a similar tone and feel. Recommend if you are a fan of the original A Christmas Story.

Knives Out Glass Onion - While I enjoyed Daniel Craig's performance, there is not much else to recommend, Ed Norton was just OK. Overall, not as entertaining as the original Knives Out. Not bad but not really good either.

              • The Menu. Excellent dark comedy/thriller. Ralph Finnes is at his best in this movie.

I had heard for years how good Before Sunrise was. For some reason I never got around to watching it until this weekend. I wish I had read Mark Grace's review beforehand. I finished the movie just to say I did. but was on twitter and doing other things for the last 45 mins of the film, once I realized nothing was ever going to happen other than more talking!

What were you expecting them to do?

Good question -I don't know. There was little to no conflict and/or resolution. It reminded me a lot more of a play than a traditional movie. I can see why it's adored by critics. I'm glad I watched it (been on my to do list for years), but have no interest in seeing either of the sequels.

                      • I recommend "The Dry". A film starring Eric Bana that takes place in his homeland of Victoria-Australia. Excellent cinematography and good acting. It's a murder mystery.

I've got the book on my reading list. From various accounts, the film version of The Dry is a faithful adaptation of the novel.

                            • Bullet Train was a lot of fun. Wife tapped out midway through the film due to gore.

I watched it and wish I had tapped out early.

You really have to suspend disbelief. All that murder and mayhem going on and nobody notices? Ha. Having ridden the bullet train numerous times, it made me laugh. The movie is like a comic book.
