I saw it because my 12 year old is infatuated with Marvel. It was probably the worst marvel movie I’ve seen. It’s clearly the worst movie I’ve seen this year. I had a 32 oz Coke Zero and still almost fell asleep.

    • Dr. Strange wasn't that bad, not as good as the first. My daughter gave me a crash course in Wandavision before I went, which is also kind of clever. I haven't seen the latest Spiderman so she gave me the least spoiler overview of that so I would understand that there's a multiverse now.

Love the mysticism of Dr. Strange, but it still is one of the weaker Marvel movies. B minus.

The movie would be complete nonsense if you had not seen Wandavision, the latest Spiderman, and Loki. But more concerning, I think this is more of a wake up call to go get that prostate checked out.

Watch the Disney+ series 'Loki' for a better explanation of that. Spiderman's plot was premised on the multiverse principle established in Loki.

          • Waaaaaay too much Marvel now. I don't think I've seen any of the Marvel TV shows or movies since Endgame 2.

yeah she said I needed to watch that before Dr. Strange, but I told her no dice. I’d probably enjoy it but I’ve got other things to watch. She also watched the animated series ‘What If’, and apparently the movie references a lot of that also. She is all in on Marvel…

Yeah, I hear that it would be very difficult to follow this movie unless you were up to speed on all of the other Marvel plot lines.

                Hard pass.

                • Watched 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' a third time. Loved it again. There are some very sublime moments in that movie. However, I'm calling it now; I don't need to spend money to watch it another time. I just realized tonight that I watched another Michelle Yeoh movie multiple times in the theater. I loved 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' back in the day...

Mrs. NWC commented that she liked it a lot more the second time, but she's still only at a B+. Oldest daughter loved it. Said it was in her top 5 of all time. She's my favorite daughter right now.

Guess who else didn't LOL at those scenes? My wife. She said it wasn't funny the first time, and she didn't crack a smile at them the second time.

                        • Top Gun Maverick is pretty solid. The aerial scenes are incredible, which makes up for a passable if formulaic. plot. Tom Cruise might be a weirdo, but the guy can make a good movie. Might as well shell out the extra cash and splurge on IMAX for this one.

it ain’t no Everything Everywhere All at Once, but it’s a good show to see in the theater. B plus.

Just got home from it - best movie I've been to in years.

                            2nd movie since 2019

                              • Top Gun - I was awake the whole time. Loved it. Pretty much a perfect action movie. Interesting but uncomplicated mission. Awesome action scenes. Great nostalgic tribute. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.
