Despite all of the movies I've seen at my wife's insistence, she leaned over to me and said, "I'm not going to see that with you."
We took the fam to that yesterday. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. My head was bobbing throughout most of the movie, but unfortunately never actually fell asleep for an extended period.

C'mon man. I haven't seen it but that is either crazy hyperbole or you haven't seen many movies.

Joe had 5 wives that were all normal.
There was not much world building... I just went into it willing to accept the world for what it was, and had a great time. Found out the actor who played Nux also played young Beast in First Class... pretty impressive acting range, IMO.

I recognized him from Warm Bodies. He looks a lot like Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance imo.

              • Went a little crazy this weekend and watch three new movies:

Mad Max was terrible. Tom Hardy stunk as Mad Max, story was boring and unimaginative. Had great potential, but never met it.

Tomorrowland was fun, other than the last 20 minutes. It was a little heavy handed on the environmental/global warming apocolyse, and it wrapped up too easily, but the build up was fun. Kids enjoyed it.

Avengers was also terrible. What was up with all the swearing? Thought this was a kids show. Disappointed in Josh Whedon. Lacked the witty dialogue that helped make the first Avengers.

I don't watch many movies - hell, I tend to avoid the movie theater like the plague these days, so perhaps that's the answer, but it was embarrassingly bad. I was bored the entire time. Go watch it and return and report.

I L.O.V.E.D. it. I am genuinely shocked that people here think it was so bad. In fact, I believe that people here are either snobs, sheep, or stuck in the past like IPU or SMR, because rotten tomatoes gives is a 75% by critics, and reports that 88% of audiences liked it.

                    • Nicholas Hoult (Nux) was also Jack in Jack and the Beanstock. Also the kid in About A Boy.

In defense of Tom Hardy, he had nothing to work with. The whole point of his character is that he doesn't reveal much.

But give him a more interesting character and you get deliciously rendered lines like:

I was bored throughout and couldn't wait for it to end. It was 2 hours, 10 minutes, felt like 3 hours. It's really that simple.

Also, perhaps I don't know how to read rotten tomatoes, but I just checked because I couldn't believe the numbers you posted, and it looks like it got a 49% by critics.
