I liked Ex Machina. The acting was solid as has been said before. Especially Oscar Isaac (Nathan). He plays the part to perfection. I think I would have liked a little more attention paid to the sessions with Ava. I felt that those were rushed, and the director spent more time with the relationship between Nathan and Caleb. Theirs was interesting, but Ava's and Caleb's could have been much more detailed, like more dialogue that would have led us to contemplate the questions Nathan was asking Caleb. Not that this wasn't attempted, it was. I guess I just wish there would have been more focus on the sessions.
And yes, the robots were certainly attractive. Mrs. NWC thought it a shame that the movie totally could have been PG-13 were it not for the gratuitous (but non-sexual) nudity. She has a point, though I think I would prefer the 'R' version...
