I wish I could jump in here, but I'm not quite caught up. I've watched about 30 episodes over the last couple weeks and am close. But I don't feel very good about this accomplishment.

Has there ever been a more depressing show on television? I understand how the show works, and at first I appreciated the show's unwillingness to show the drug trade and meth use in any sort of a positive light. But I can't think of a single episode where Walt has been able to enjoy the fruits of his labor. There are some really unbelievable story lines and I thought the plane crash was way over the top. All I'm asking for is a single episode where Walt is able to enjoy, in relative peace, his successes.
Take the Wire. That series successfully portrayed drug trade and use in a negative light, including its effects on society. But the drug lords and even the low level dealers were able to enjoy themselves from time-to-time. That's all I ask. An episode that is not a complete downer.

Dunno. He saw fit to grow out his hair and rock a gnarly beard, though, so who knows.


On another note, I'm so glad they didn't whack Jesse in the first season as originally planned. He's by far my favorite on the show.

I had to rewatch the opening bacon and eggs scene to figure out what the heck he was doing. At first I thought it was symbol he was making, then I realized he made 52 (showing how old he was, obviously). Remember his surprise 50th B-day in the series premiere (he was late after being belittled by his car wash boss).

Was it also a Dennys where Walt and Jesse showed up in Gamber shirts, in last season's premiere? That was one of my favorite random moments, of the entire series.

I just emerged from a youtube rabbit hole, after watching everything from Miami Vice clips to The Greatest American Hero intro. Somewhere along my journey, I found the full first episode, with the questionable coitus scene in the last couple minutes. I think the chaotic and confusing first 4 minutes, is the best series introduction, I've ever seen. I forgot how good it is, and how amazing of transformation Cranston has made with Walt; what a fantastic actor.

Congratulations Vince, you are finally accomplishing what you want - making me start to dislike Walt (sad that making him a meth-making murderer wasn't enough). It is hard to even remember Mr. White, anymore. Cranston is an amazing actor. Also A great job last night by both Jesse and Skyler.

I'm really liking having more Mike (Mr. Ehrmantraut) this season. Of course he wears Everlast sweatpants.
