Oh, I think I posted this too early.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

    • From the Mt. Everest article:

Some died peacefully in their sleep, while others (who fell and/or became injured) were left to die slowly of hypothermia.* Until recently, the statistics were nearly one in four climbers dies attempting to reach the summit.* Advancements in technology and experience have led to a better survival rate of climbers.* Currently about 1,000 climbers a year attempt to reach the summit, and on average 15-20 perish. Expeditions are the primary source of income for Nepal, and licenses to ascend start at around $25,000.* If you have lesser experience and want to ascend with an experienced group, several companies will lead you to the top with a team of sherpas for prices starting around $40,000 per person.

Don't let the pictures sway you from reading the article. Just pretend you're in BYU's anatomy lab

Bump. I still can't find these pens online anywhere. It saddens me, as this was pretty much the best pen i've ever used. I liked it enough that I may head to a local bookstore to see if they can order them for me.

I feel that way about the Pentel PS535 mechanical pencil. My sister gave me one when I graduated from college and I used it for at least ten years before I finally dropped it one too many times and broke it beyond repair. Nobody makes another mechanical pencil that is nearly as good and it was hard to track down another one, but I did. Another decade and that one got dropped one too many times as well. Then I bought half a dozen of them and put them in various places (one at work, one in my brief case, one at home in the safe) so that I could always find one when needed. That should "do me out" (to quote my aunt).

I haven't noticed anyone here calling it that. I do remember that as a student some would call it Happy Valley, but I don't think I have heard a single person call it that outside of some BYU students. Do others hear that term much (not referring to PSU)?

You're partly right. Utah Valley being referred to as "happy valley" was popular back in the 80's among primarily Utahans but faded after PSU came to town during the Ty Detmer years. It was then when they realized that "happy valley" outside "the bubble" was used when talking about the location of PSU. However, it could be making a come back given things are not so happy at PSU these days. Now if we could get utahans to stop using "the U" when referring to the university of Utah. Folks outside of utah think of the university of Miami when someone uses that.

My USU grad friends call it Happy Valley. But then again, since they hide out up in Cache Valley it's probably more a sign of jealousy than a ruse.

Never. Utah was the U long before Miami was founded. It's not the U's fault that Miami didn't do any research about that before it arrogantly stole the nickname.
