    We went there!

See the footprints in the sand? 3 people had kayaked in to the beach and were sitting there horsing around. As we were leaving, the sheriff deputies had pulled up (including K9 unit) and were sneaking down through the trees to bust them. Kind of wish we had stuck around to see the fireworks.

This was disappointing. After reading your first sentence I was hoping you saw Jesus carrying people about.

Wonder why they were getting busted.

Had the same thought. Anyone who didn't is an apostate.

Restricted area. It's just a small little cove and the magic of place is to look down from the observation platforms (with a bunch of other people) and admire the beauty. A bunch of dorks playing on the beach kind of ruins it.

Ha. I definitely thought of that as I typed that sentence. We have all been conditioned I guess.

                      • When Jesus is carrying people on the beach - is He wearing a speedo - or surfer shorts? Does He have his hair tied back?

                        • full disclosure, in 1994 my friend and I in the early morning ran across that beach and touched the waterfall. There was no one else around, so we did not disturb their pictures. We also did not get caught

                          • San Juan Islands.

                            TLDR: you should totally go.

We spent 9 days there, splitting it between San Juan and Orcas Islands. We took the ferry from Annacortes but we saw small planes coming in from Seattle throughout the day. The islands are beautiful. Resorts aplenty, but it was easy to find less busy places to spend a day. Of the two, I like Orcas better since it seemed less crowded. There's plenty of water based excursions available. We did some sea kayaking and did a whale boat trip; saw a really cool transient pod of 14 orcas. We didn't see the resident pod while on the islands but saw purposes and plenty of seals and sea lions. I loved spending time on the water weaving in and out of the islands. Lots of good seafood around there. Just a really beautiful place. If I go again, I would skip San Juan Island and hit the other smaller ones. But I would still recommend going there for a first trip.

I already see enough purpose in my life.

I looked at the map and was reminded that Victoria is right there as well. I think at one point we were planning a trip there but decided against it. Have you been? Worth a visit?

                                Purposes, porpoises, whatever!

I have been to Victoria. It is one of the more beautiful cities I've been to. I love Vancouver Island (where Victoria is). You can see Vancouver Island fairly easily from the San Juan Islands, and if you're high up enough you can see Vancouver the city on the mainland of BC.
