This is fun to watch. Those who own working dogs (we have an Australian Shepherd, a breed very similar to the cattle dog) will recognize these antics.

Used to see them at the dog park. Very powerful dog, more placid than a pitbull. One cannot resist running one's hand along the ridgeback tuft.

That's fils' pic.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostGood looking pooches, realtall. I'm a big believer in rescues. How did you get them all to look at you at once? Hold up a treat? Or are they all just really attentive when you tell them you're taking a photo of them?

We have 3 dogs, all rescues.
1. First was Ranger, who is now 5, we got from the pound shortly after we bought our house. She is some sort of Coon Hound mix. Her hobbies include catching/fetching the tennis ball & counter surfing. We had her for about a year but she looked miserable and bored so we went back to the pound and got
2. Sophie, a (now) 4 year old dalmation mix. We know the dalmation part because she and her siblings were surrendered as puppies by their owner. The vet thinks that she has greyhound in her. She is very fast.
3. Rusty, whom we got a little over a year ago from a family at the end of the block who was moving and didn't want him anymore. They were going to turn him into the pound. He is a reddish lab mix who has more enthusiasm then any one creature should be allowed to have. When I walk through the door after coming home from work the first thing that I see is that big thick tail of his going back and forth at the speed of sound. Seriously, his hips move with it and he looks like he is going to give himself whiplash. I wait for a moment before I lean down to greet him because if I do it right away he will give me a full head butt while in the thrall of his frenetic enthusiasm. He lives to be next to me.
