I couldn't quite make out the punchline on the one shirt with a pirate theme that said something like "You are what you eat" and underneath the pirate image "Ye arrr...." something....
I guess I'll never know.

I have a lot of weaknesses in this game: country flags, car model years, fashion trends, etc.
One of those blind spots is that unless the Sydney Opera House is part of the picture, I almost never even think of Australia. I stared at that picture for several minutes thinking "There is no way that is the UK", but also not getting a feeling of any US city. I went through Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and a couple of others before deciding that 75% of US pictures are in New York so let's hope this is in some weird part of Brooklyn I haven't seen or something. Australia for some reason never even entered my mind.

The English signs, and the fact that the cars were driving on the left side of the road told me it had to be UK, Aussie, or NZ.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI have a lot of weaknesses in this game: country flags, car model years, fashion trends, etc.

35,691 -- Another poor weekend effort. I think I guessed too early on every single one today.
1)
7138 pts
4 yrs off - 1323.0 km -- First thought, seeing the green, the waterfall, and the VW van, was Hawaii and Lost, but I was pretty sure it wasn't that. I had it down to 2 places and Iceland was one of them, but since it looked like it might be a location for an Irish Spring commercial...
2)
6956 pts
11 yrs off - 1.5 km -- Guessed pre-war, since it looked like the signs were part of some temperance movement. I figured it probably lined up closer to US prohibition.
3)
6985 pts
11 yrs off - 726.6 m -- Once again, guessed way too early.
4)
4812 pts
2 yrs off - 18316.3 km -- I always consider New Zealand when I see sheep in the picture. But with the obelisk, the look of the people, and the terrain, I was thinking some Mediterranean location and chose Italy.
5)
9800 pts
2 yrs off - 38.4 m -- Picked the middle of the US involvement in WW2.

1)9510 pts
0 yrs off - 97.6 km - Got the place, and a little lucky nailing the year
2)8920 pts
3 yrs off - 180.4 km - the star on the map made me think it was somewhere besides Copenhagen
3)7000 pts
11 yrs off - 44.8 m - fumbled the year. I was wondering if I should just leave it on 1962.
4)4962 pts
1 yrs off - 18271.5 km - looked like it could be the countryside in England
5)9800 pts
2 yrs off - 41.3 m - this was another gimme

44,046, however this was a collaborative effort. My firstborn enjoys the game so she suggested we play together this morning. Almost finished with an epic score...
1) 9389 pts
0 yrs off - 111.3km -- Started out strong with a lucky date guess and my daughter overruling my Norway suggestion.
2) 9895 pts
1 yrs off - 2.2 km -- Clearly Danish. The clothing and Nazi officer put it during the German occupation. Pretty cool that that was downed American pilot being sheltered by the underground. Must have been a nervous moment..
3) 9800 pts
2 yrs off - 36.6.6 m -- Knew the exact spot and clothing got us close on time.
4) 5012 pts
0 yrs off - 18258.9km -- A cause of major familial strife this morning. Shorts, hair, and a little luck bagged us the year, but I overruled my daughter's vote for New Zealand, going instead with the Cotswolds, Considering that the farthest two points can be from each other on earth is 20,000 km, It would be nearly impossible to make a worse guess, although I see beefy did so by about 60 km
..
5) 9950 pts
1 yrs off - 31.4 m -- No one should do worse than 9600 or so (1942-45) on this one.

3) 5937 pts
18 yrs off - 2.7 km, Too late
4) 4812 pts
2 yrs off - 18418.0 km, I win the furthest from the pin contest

1)
8892 pts
5 yrs off - 404.3 m -- The cars were on the wrong side of the street which gave me pause, but still went to with the biggest clue "Manchester Building Society". I would have been even later and worse off timewise if I hadn't seen the "FAX" sign on the side.
2)
9750 pts
2 yrs off - 1.9 km
3)
6620 pts
2 yrs off - 2041.2 km -- The "Spitsbergen" and "Lovli" with the slash through the O, told me it was Norway. I thought it was some kind of Viking ritual or something. Certainly, didn't look like the lighting of a fuse to me. I went with the city of Bergen and was way off on location.
4)
9150 pts
1 yrs off - 299.8 km -- Went with the Red and White of Austria, not Poland.
5)
6606 pts
8 yrs off - 394.2 km -- Recognized 007. Had no idea where he was, who his co-star was, or which movie he was filming. I guessed Rome and way too late.

1) 6387 pts
14yrs off - 114.1 km -- I always pick Birmingham if it's an otherwise unidentifiable English city. Maybe because it's the one major city I haven't visited.
2)9766pts
2 yrs off - 2.6km -- The Saigon sign meant it was likely pre-75.
3) 7173 pts
3 yrs off - 1853,3 m -- Lucky date guess; location not so lucky.
4) 8544 pts
4 yrs off - 255.8km -- Recognized the Polish banners.
5) 9937 pts
1 yrs off - 654.8m -- Picture was taken before Vesper Lynd drowned in an unfortunate elevator accident.

1) 10000 pts
0 yrs off - 7.9 m Bombing happened when I was preparing to go to Sydney with a BYU singing group and was at ROTC camp. Events like this kind of stick out in my memory. Old Bank Street gave it away
2) 9598 pts
3 yrs off - 120.9 m Initially thought late 60s but got cute and picked 71
3) 3826 pts
11 yrs off - 2021.6 km Norwegian company. Resolution on pic was good enough that guessed way too recent on date
4) 8147 pts
5 yrs off - 252.9 km Got Poland and little else
5) 9935 pts
1 yrs off - 756.1 m Thought that since Casino Royale was released in 2006, it would have been 05. Upon further review, it looks like shooting commenced in Jan 06 and the film was released in Nov. I can remember movie years but not months.
