  • 47,892 -- Not sure if I've ever got a better score. I was doing great until the last 2 where I messed up the years.

1 yrs off - 100.9 m -- Recognized the 2 presidents. There were pillars at the corner of the picture that gave me confidence it was at the Whitehouse.

    2)
    9997 pts
0 yrs off - 146.9 m -- Narrow downed the year based on the Datsun Brand. I was able to make out the street signs even with my limited Spanish.

    3)
    9990 pts
0 yrs off - 488.4 m -- Took me a minute on this one. Several English signs, "Swiss" "Israel" and even "Burma". Driving on the right side of the road. A cosmopolitan location. Looked like Paris to me. I looked around and found Place Vendom. Picked the wrong side of it though.

6 yrs off - 25.3 m -- Driving on the left side of the road. I think we have had pictures from this street before. The Queen Victoria Building is pretty distinct, and I was able to find it pretty quickly with satellite view. I was thinking this was during the wildfires they have had, so I picked too recently.

    5)

3 yrs off - 1.4 km -- Figured it was somewhere in Sweden. Picked too recently.

    • And now looking it up, I see that Datsun was phased out of Europe in 1984 with only limited use until 1986, so me getting the year correct was pure luck.

This is really good on distance. All but one in meters. I think I have done that well once before as well.

If only it was measured in miles. I would have been under 1 on all of them!

1 yrs off - 43.3 m This was my gimme. Impossible to be off by more than 2 years.

4 yrs off- 195.3 m Sign says Andorra, and spelling Espanya like that cannot be Spain

            3)5837 pts
0 yrs off- 3313.1 km I saw Israel on one of the signs and the only other one I could make out was in English

            4)10000 pts
0 yrs off- 5.7 m My saving grace on an otherwise pedestrian day. I knew that wicked was down under from 2008-2011 and recognized the QV building from my time there.

8 yrs off- 1314.0 km I immediately felt stupid on the year because I should have been in the 70s, but what made it so obvious that it was in Sweden? Edit. I just looked up ABBA and realized who was in the picture. Never made the connection, because unless I have actually seen them, I don't associate faces with most pop groups, so I still only feel stupid on the year. The cobblestone city center and architecture reminded me most of Munich.

Yeah, I was a little concerned the photo might have been taken in Germany. All the furs they were wearing reinforced Sweden. I wouldn't know their faces if Mrs. Diddley wasn't such a fan.

              • 46,979 Strong on location, but just a bit off on time kept me from a stellar score

                1) 9948 pts
1 yrs off -- 98.8 m. Picked the middle year of the only three years it could have been

                2) 9296 pts
4 yrs off - 207.2 m My wife is still a little grumpy we drove two hours out of our way to walk on that street (always nice to add a new country to the list)

                3) 9589 pts.
3 yrs off - 573.2 m. Recognized the obelisk--happy to be only slightly off with the year

                5 yrs off 886.7 m

                5) 9263 pts
4 yrs off - 1.1 km. Kind of happy not to be an ABBA expert

                  9950 - 1 year, 11.6 m

7492 - 8 years, 418.4 m - Almost selected the spot within a few meters but didn't look like the road went through there to "Espanya". I went with 1978 since my dad drove a 1978 Datsun 810 in my youth.

8830 - 5 years, 3.1 km - thought it was the Bastille monument. went with the default 1962.

4962 - 1 year, 16,994 km - As usual, didn't consider Australia. Went with a spot in the Theatre District of London. Pretty pleased on how close I was on the year, though.

                  9282 - 4 years, 908.2 m - picked a random spot in Stockholm in 1980.

Were you able to get an individual score lower than my 1012 from yesterday.

I did this on my phone, so not easily copied. I did really well on locations, getting the right cities in all but the Ireland one where I was in Dublin. A little surprised to get within 1km of the last location in LA.

                        • 45,362 -- Might be weekend brain, but I thought it was a little tougher today. So I'm pretty happy with my score.

4 yrs off - 2.2 km -- Looked like prohibition times. The street cars were on the right side of the road so I'm thinking US. I search for Woodward in NY, NJ, and Philly for a while and then I see the "Detroit" on the other side of the streetcar.

4 yrs off - 483.3 km -- Figured it was somewhere in Europe. I missed any clue that pointed it to Copenhagen. Saw a sign in the background that says Norsk, so I went with Oslo. Guessed too recently.

1 yrs off - 4.0 km -- Lots of Chinese characters but saw the writing on the wall in the background that made me think, Thai, Cambodia, or Vietnam. I figured chances are it was during the Vietnam war.

2 yrs off - 115.1 km -- Italian flags and the different country stuff were really confusing. I knew it would be Europe. I figured Ulster Bank and St. Pattrick's day would be Ireland or Northern Ireland. All the banks I saw on the map were foreign banks and I couldn't find any Ulster banks, so I went with Dublin. I also saw a kid carrying a Teletubby doll, which pushed be back into the aughts. I should have considered that probably would have been a Northern Ireland thing with the English influence and the BBC and all.

Yeah seeing Norsk, I looked in Oslo for a couple minutes, but reasoned that some sort of Norsk Bureau was probably in another Scandinavian country, so I went with Denmark. That was probably a little lucky.

Got detroit but the quality of the picture made me think oughts.
                              Oslo and way too late
                              Hanoi and post war
Dublin and 8 off. I cannot even remember if I was early or late.
LA and 1 yr late. Guessed year of release instead of year before because of the Bond one that was same year and lost 50 points.
