The thing about this thread is I will open it and have a mental experience similar to "Oh! Wow, I thought Topol had died years ago! No idea he was still alive! ...Oh."

That has been the case with both of the last two. For some reason I had thought Mr. "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time" had not been with us for some years.

I don't know how many remember Mark Russell . He was a political satirest who had specials on PBS every political season up untill the last '00s- His schtick was playing the piano and singing little jingle he had composed = he skewered everybody on the political spectrum

For those of us of a certain age, He WAS the voice of local news!!

I was in the Army during the floods of the early 80's. One afternoon I went back to my BOQ for lunch and flipped on CNN. I hadn't heard about the "State Street River", but CNN has lifted about 10 minutes of KSL coverage, complete with Dick Norse, Bob Weltie and Paul James.t. My first thought was "What is KSL doing on at Ft. Campbell?" It took a minute to realize what was going on.
