The first thing that I thought about... he was caught in what- 96? In 1998's Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams quizzes his genius professor friend in the pub about who Ted Kaczynski is, and he has no idea. Was it really that obscure of a news item? I remember it being pretty huge. I certainly knew the name Ted Kaczynski. I guess not a plot hole or anything, but come on...

I bet he's genuinely dismayed that the afterlife is exactly as nuanced as the mortal realm. Probably a big 'oh shit' moment for him.

His genius professor friend was probably on his mission in 1996 - just like I was.

A honeymoon with a headache, but I'll take it.

James Lewis, the dude who very well may have been the Tylenol murderer. I was a sophomore in high school in the Chicago area when this happened and it was absolutely huge. Seven people in the area died. People were terrified to take medicine, there were all sorts of rumors going around. People were freaking the freak out.

I have no idea if he really did it, but at the very least he tried to profit off of it by sending an extortion letter to Johnson & Johnson, so that is enough to make me not overly sad at his passing.

I just read the NYT obit. He had other run-ins with the law and seemed very creepy even if he didn't do this.

Tony Bennet, 96. I had no idea of the breadth of his life experiences, from WWII vet to civil rights' activist.
