3 people in the family. Good battery life, and we still need to charge it almost every night when we go to bed.

The NBC London olympics app looks very promising. All events live streamed to the iPad. Gotta love that if it works.

I read this article a few days ago about Apple replacing Google as their map provider for iOS 6. There is a chance that I saw the article on CUF, but I don't think so:

The article doesn't say anything about GPS, but I am hoping that this is a sign that Apple is taking control of and adding features to their native mapping capabilities.

On CUF's recommendation, I also use the MotionX app, and I have been generally pleased with it, but I agree that there is no great GPS app on the iPhone.

The new Maps app in iOS 6 looks like just what you (and I) have been hoping for:

Skyview. Really neat astronomer app. You point it to the sky and it highlights the constellations in the area. Also shows movements of planets and satellites. A steal for 2 dollars.

Amazon instant video. If you are prime member, it's basically like having Netflix.
