How about a civilization type game based in Spain: Settlers of Catalan.

Or a real estate trading game: "One Sells Many"

Sorry. Everything you're looking for is built into all Android phones running 2.0+.

Maps, Navigation, and Car Mode all come with your Android (version 2.0 and higher), and they're all crucial to the Android-in-the-car experience. Maps is less useful when you have your hands on the wheel, but the ability to "Star" locations from your desktop or laptop browser, then quickly pull them up for directions on your phone, is very nice. Navigation, as we've previously detailed, is an entire turn-by-turn GPS navigation package, as long as you're not driving too far away from a data signal. The Car Mode makes pulling off Voice Actions and getting Navigation directions safer while your hands are occupied, and Maps' break-out app, Places, gives you a chance to see a simple list of nearby restaurants, gas, ATMs, or other spots. [Free on Android phones, but check Market for updates]

Lebowski has commented on it before too, but the Car Mode navigation on Android is flawless. It's every bit as robust and accurate as my Garmin Nuvi. In fact I started using my phone more than my Garmin because the maps are more current (I just downloaded the 2011 maps to my Garmin which had 2008 maps the other day though). I also love the Google Street View that the app switches to as you near your destination. Seeing a picture of the actual destination is very useful.

I love the Maps function. And the "Places" function beats yelp hands-down, by sheer volume of users.

After a few weeks with an iPad, I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the functionality (or lack thereof). I thought I was on the verge of making a switch to iPhone and Macs, but I'm a little hesitant. I would love to see Apple put the same effort into function as Google/Android, and I really wish a Droid manufacturer would put the same effort into design as Apple.

This may be true, but the blurb you provided isn't really what I was describing. I'm not looking for turn by turn. And I can already pin locations and get directions to them very easily.

I'm looking to be able to see all pinned locations simultaneously. The blurb you provided doesn't speak to that at all, although it does sound like a good app.

Google Maps does this which I know is available for iOS. You can star locations and then show them on the map. I just played with my Evo and did this with two Starbucks locations. They show as little stars on my main map. You can press and hold on a star and the address will pop up. You can then hit menu > starred locations > get directions. It defaults to where you're located as the start point but there is a bookmark button right next to it that allows you to put in any address manually or any starred (saved) location you have.

Is google maps the default app that comes with the device? If so, i need to find a tutorial for the app.

Not sure if it's the default for iPhone. I doubt it. But it is the default for Android, of course.

Thanks I will check it out. Is it an app or do you just mean using google maps via the Internet?

Whoops, looks like iPhone doesn't integrate all of Google Maps' features like starred locations and such.

                          Sorry.

Being part indian trapper and part boy scout I have no need for any nav app.

                            • A new BYU app for sale....costs $9.99. An illustrated re-telling of the Back to Harline game, narrated by Wrubell and containing actual sound from the game, the call, the pre-game Haka, the fight song, etc.

The website that sells the $17 hardcover equivalent can be found here.

Looks like they are planning on doing other teams memorable sports moments, as well.

$10 for an app? Don't think so.

                              • App start is a great app that compiles top 10 type lists for all sorts of categories, but are not necessarily the same ones in the "top" categories in the app store. It is currently a free app and is frequently being updated. Check it out, very cool.
