Choke the Chickens! Official BYU v. Coastal Carolina Game Thread
We have a medium-sized bedroom with a 65-inch TV. It is wonderful.
I have a 55 inch tv in my bedroom and a wife that watches tv on her ipad. No chance of upgrading it.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I’m sitting on a 2006 62” 720p plasma that I wish would die. That sucker consumes power like crazy and puts out enough heat to warm the whole room.
Panasonic? I have one of those too (although I think mines a 58"). Great picture and still works like a charm. The thing is a beast though ... super heavy and does put off a ton of heat.
Vegas has BYU favored by about 10 points. That sounds about right based on statistics.
Both teams are pretty evenly matched on passing defense and total defense, but BYU is much better at run defense. BYU is holding its opponents to about 68% of their average rushing yards per game, while Coastal is holding their opponents to about 87% of their averages. BYU is only giving up about 2.9 rushing yards per attempt, while Coastal is giving up 4.1. BYU is also significantly better at scoring defense, holding opponents to about 49% of their average score per game. Coastal is holding opponents to about 68% of their average scoring total.
On offense, Coastal running game is slightly better than BYU's statistically. They are averaging 222 in rushing yards per game to BYU's 202.33. Coastal is also gaining about 26% more yards against their opponents' averages, while BYU is only about 5% higher (the Houston game really screwed us on that stat ... we only had 78 rushing yards in that game). BYU's passing game is significantly better than Coastal's though. BYU is averaging 333 yards per game in the air, while Coastal is averaging only about 226. On average, BYU is beating their opponents pass defenses by about 50%, while Coastal is performing worse on average against their opponents pass defenses. BYU is also better on total offense and scoring offense, where BYU is scoring about 155% on average of their opponents' scoring defense and Coastal is scoring about 124% in the same metric.
Overall, Coastal's opponents are about the same quality as BYU's on average, but the top couple of teams that Coastal has played are probably slightly better than BYU's best opponents statistically.
In many ways, the two teams are pretty evenly matched. Both teams should be ranked higher based on metrics, in my opinion. I expect BYU to win by at least 10 though.
This is cliche, but the difference will be in the trenches where we should have a significant advantage. I hope we start out on offense running straight ahead and making them commit to slow us down. If our D Line can cause some disruption early it could be a blowout. I can't remember the last time I had this much confidence in a BYU football team.
I believe you mean 2008 TCU. In the 2009 TCU game we had already been blown out earlier in the season by Florida State.
But I disagree on both of them. I think the answer is 2001 utah because we theoretically still were playing for a BCS bowl even though it was never going to happen. The potential benefit from a BYU win in this game is far greater than any game we have played since.

Pioneer. Back in the day they were the kings of plasma TVs.
I have a 55” OLED in the bedroom. There’s room for a bigger TV, but going smaller with the OLED was so worth it. Picture quality is amazing.
Oh cool. Mines like that, except that it’s an old Visio 720p.

My initial suggestion was to just cover it with a large framed picture or painting and put the TV on the half wall on the other side of the room. But my wife doesn't like the room layout options that way. She said just dry wall it over. But because I'm lazy I'll probably just leave it as is and keep kidding myself that I'll be able to afford a different house in this terrible housing market for buyers.
That looks great. I have thought about trying to cover it somehow.
This is what I am dealing with

I hate to say it, bro, but your wife is right. Drywalling that thing in would be super easy. Then you could fit a much wider flat screen in that space.

Yep. And you have power and cable right there. You can just tie into the boxes in the nook and run wire to new boxes in the new framing. Frame it, wire it, sheet rock it, and tape/mud it on a Friday evening. Sand, texture and paint on Saturday morning. Mount TV Saturday afternoon.
Pro Tip: put some horizontal 2x8 studs into the framing to allow you to mount without anchors and without needing to find 1.5” studs.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
