  • Any predictions on how far Northwestern falls in the CFP rankings tomorrow? They fell 5 spots in the AP poll and 4 spots in the coaches poll, but weren't ranked as high as they were in the CFP rankings.

My prediction is that they fall 5 spots to #13 ... right ahead of BYU at #14 ... which would be frustrating.

If that happens we will know the fix is in. If there is one thing we learned this weekend, its that northwestern is not very good. Definitely not better than byu and maybe not even a top 25 team.

I think we already know the fix is in. The question now is whether they try to cover it up a little better by moving BYU up the next couple weeks (but not high enough to actually mean anything).

If the schools don't confirm tomorrow they are cleared to play based on today's tests, I think we will see more cancelles games this week. Obviously there need to be an odd number of ineligible pac teams to open the door for a byu game. I wonder if we would be more willing to take a game on short notice this time around.

Forgot to note that USC already played ASU (their only game) this season so I would think paring the two again would not he an option if WSU can't go.
I dont remember them saying that they were unwilling to play on short notice - just that they weren't willing to commit to a game that Washington couldn't commit to. If not for Utah coming available, they may be very well have played Washington even if they hadn't agreed to the game until Thursday.

I have heard Sitake say that he would like a full week to prepare for somebody.

          • Those punks in the committee put BYU at 13. Northwestern fell behind them, but that's it.

BYU has a plausible path to #11, if Indiana loses its Big 10 title matchup and the loser of the ISU (#9? Really?) and Oklahoma Big 12 title game manages to drop below BYU. (How a 3-loss Big 12 team would fall below an undefeated BYU is just unfathomable.)

Not sure that will be enough. If these were the final rankings, the 12 spots would go to:
            • The top four teams, which get into the playoffs: Alabama, ND, Clemson, Ohio State
            • The top-ranked remaining team from each conference that has a team taken to the playoffs: Texas A&M (SEC), Miami (ACC), and Big 10 (Indiana).
            • Any other auto-qualifier, including the top-ranked G5 champion: Winner of OU/ISU (Big 12), Pac 12 champ, and Cincinnati

That's ten right there. Only two at-large spots remain. Under current rankings, those go to Florida (at #6) and Georgia (at #8).

Even at #9, jumping by four spots, we are out.

The only viable path in is for the ACC to send in only one of ND/Clemson and for Miami to lose. That would open up an at-large spot and possibly let BYU squeeze into it.

If Oklahoma State wins anymore games, they are going to vault us as well.

And Indiana just lost their starting QB for the season. Their new starter is none other than Jack Tuttle, whom we thank for Zach Wilson mind you, so their star has lost its luster.

                • LOL. The committee dropped USC 2 spots when they didn't play this week. And moves North Carolina up 2 spots after losing to Notre Dame (in a game that wasn't really that close). What the hell are they smoking?

                  • Oklahoma State moved up EIGHT spots for beating 3-6 Texas Tech by 6 points. They have FIVE Big Ten teams in the top 25 ... more than any other conference. What more evidence that this is all fraudulent do you need?

There is no plausible path to a NY6 at this point. The "justification" they have laid out will be impossible for BYU to change. It's over. Maybe the completely naked corruption will be known to all, but it won't change the outcome of this season.

                        • I was expecting that BYU would only move up one spot since Northwestern was the only one ranked higher that lost. And they almost didn't move up at all since Northwestern only dropped to 14, setting them up to potentially jump over BYU again.

If the committee is inclined to cave to the pressure to elevate BYU's ranking, they'll probably wait until after they play again. Then they can talk about how the dominating performance impressed them. They're probably planning that people won't care that much and that after a couple more weeks, people will be desensitized and nobody will even ask about BYU's outlier ranking.
