Say it ain't so! Oxcoug said Utah couldn't compete on the recruiting trail with ASU! And Pedroza might not be the last one to switch to Utah as well.

I can't handle SLC being a place where kids want to go to school and play ball.

Also - while I genuinely wish the best for Norm I dont think he's going to be as much of an asset as imagined when two of the PAC schools he'll be recruiting against forced him out and two of the HCs and one OC he'll be recruiting against are guys hired to replace him.

      Finally...

I'd guess Utah's pitch right now sounds something like: '10 win seasons every year and two BCS wins in the last six years.' Six years from now I really think that's going to be 'hey four bowl games in the last six years with that one epic win in the Holiday Bowl. Yeah, we've averaged 5 losses a year since we joined the PAC but hey kid we are IN the PAC.'

While the PAC pitch will exert a strong pull, there will be nothing that positive to differentiate Utah from the rest of mid level programs fighting to hang w SC and Oregon (and...Stanford). Head to head there will be no reason for a kid to pick Utah over Cal, UW or ASU let alone USC or Oregon.

I don't necessarily think they'll lose ground but I don't believe there will be much of a net gain.
And the hits just keep on coming!

I'm already on board the Chow Train.

I knew he would have an impact. I didn't anticipate it so quickly, but I knew it would come. I havent listend to this kid's press conference, but my guess is that Pedroza will cite NoCho as a big reason for the switch. Kid is a WR, no? That is a guy that also wants to be like Mike (williams).

This is the defining post for oxcoug. It will follow him to his grave:

I understand the importance of circling a player on his highlight tape to point him out. I'm not sure that you need to keep the circle on him throughout the entire play.

Yep. Wrong on the Pac-12, wrong on the positive impact it would bring in recruiting. Now we just need him to come out and say Utah will never win a national title or Heisman Trophy and we're all set.

C'mon out and plaaaa-aaaaaay, Oxie! Let us hear your next apocalyptic prediction for Utah football.

Apparently Floyd Raven's mom signed his LOI to Ole Miss, which Houston Nutt voided. He's now going to Texas A&M.

                            So close.

I think the commentators have to know where they are going...otherwise we wouldn't have seen the incredulous reaction...."really?"

So who is left for Utah? I've seen a ton of chest-thumping about this class, but Scout ranks it #49 right now. Surely there's something yet to come to justify all the noise?
