Not the prettiest win at all, but a W and I'm happy for Sitake and the boys.

I am in a bit of despair knowing I've seen my last BYU game w Kai Nacua. He's been so great. I don't know when we were so spoiled at safety."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

What a gut punch for Wyoming. That had all the momentum. Love Kai.

I had just been telling someone I expected them to overreach and get picked by Kai. Great way for him to end a stellar career.
We won. Winning is always nice. And Jamaal was amazing. Jamaal was to this team's bowl win what KVN was to our last one: a special player who carried the team on his back to the win.
I'll discount the rest of the offense's performance-- it was raining, and the game plan was clearly to rely on Jamaal. But Tanner's game was plainly below standard. Knowing what he's capable of, and knowing what Taysom is capable of notwithstanding his own struggles this year, I think this game is consistent with what I've suspected for most of the season: the offense has issues going well beyond QB. We will need significant improvement in production next year, but I know we've got guys who can do it.
I said at the beginning of the year that six wins would be an accomplishment. The schedule turned out weaker than we thought it would be, but it says a lot that with all the upheaval this team experienced this year we matched the output we had for last year. It was a solid start to the Kalani Sitake era (and goodness knows it was darn close to being a truly great season).
What a fun year. Sad it's over.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

I can't get over it.. that interception after Kai had been jawing all night with the RBs and WRs. What a great way to shut up those rejects in the stands cheering for Wyoming who got really bold with their enthusiasm and jumping around in the 4th quarter. Oh and I liked when the announcers called Tanner the "Pinball Wizard."

That's probably what I'll remember most from attending this game. Seeing Reno run onto the field, and see the little kids running as hard and as fast as they could. And you knew Reno told them, "When we go on to the field, show Elsie how much you love her by how hard you run". The unspoken unity of their all out effort running was so powerful.Originally posted by All-American View PostAnd I hope nobody was watching me when I saw the pink flag and the Mahe family.
The rest of the game was fun and exciting but the lesson I learned from watching Reno's family run will be what I remember most.

Regardless of whether or not we are too good to play in the MWC (we are), the question of BYU rejoining the MWC really has nothing to do with being "too good".Originally posted by cowboy View PostThis is a good reminder that we, in fact, are not too good to play in the Mountain West.
