  • Poinsettia Bowl

So....when do we find out who we are playing?

And I don't want to come off as sounding cold...but I'm actually more excited for the game knowing that Hill isn't going to be the starting QB. Is it just me?

I wasn't going to go, but now I am strongly considering it.

After the MWC championship game... who ever doesn't win that and goes to the Sin City bowl. My guess is Wyoming but I am sure the Poinsettia Bowl guys would love to have SDSU.

So we get the loser of the match-up between Wyo and SDSU? Isn't the game in Laramie? If so, we might be seeing SDSU in San Diego once again.

Sad for Hill to end it that way. But at least Mangum and the offense have some time to get him ready for the bowl game. Hill was an exciting player, but #99 in passing in the nation with a 118 PE just doesn't seem like it's as good as we should have gotten out of a starting QB, even against this schedule. The thing is, he didn't pass that well against the weak teams either.

In his limited action, Tanner Mangum's PE was a very good 182. But we saw him all of last year. He's a good passer. I expect us to still rely on the running game since we've been doing that all year, but I do think he will add an element to the offense that will make us a tough team to beat in the bowl game for whichever MWC team gets to play against us.

I hope this ends the fascination with running QBs at BYU. Great if they're mobile, but they have to be able to pass.

Why not just say "I am looking forward to seeing Tanner play" vs. pissing on Taysom like that? I don't get it. The guy have everything he had. I wish him nothing but the best.

Pissing on Tasyom? All he said was that Tanner moves the needle more for him than Taysom. He didn't exactly say he was glad Taysom got injured. I happen to agree with him. I'm more interested in watching Tanner play at this point than Taysom. I think a lot of people would agree.

                        Reading is fundamental.

Yeah, I read that (and before I posted!). The obvious inference is that he is more excited to see Tanner at QB than Taysom. You don't think he's just actually excited that Taysom won't be in uniform, do you? As if the mere absence of Taysom is what is raising his excitement level, regardless of what player takes his place, if anyone does at all?

Bro, can Tanner even squat 9,000 lbs?
