that doesn't make sense. a redshirt doesn't hinder the ability to "get him through the program and on his way to the next level". if he wants to leave early, he still can leave just as early with the redshirt.

Granted, he said he doesn't want to redshirt, and the plan is to not redshirt so 99% chance he won't RS. But if they go 7 or 8 games into the season and he still hasn't seen any action, it might simply be the best course of action - because it certainly can't hurt - and he may change his mind if he isn't playing anyway. My guess is that he didn't want to redshirt because he wants to play. If he's not playing anyway, that could certainly cause a change of heart.

Or maybe he should save his redshrit in case he get injured since Taysom is the only guy I can remember getting a med redshirt post mission.

I say safer to use it now (assuming he gets no meaningful play this year) while you know you can. Then even if he gets injured, he's got another year of eligibility to use because he would have used the red shirt this year.

Don't remember which possession, but in the red zone, Taylor threw the ball to the TE in the flat. Two defenders were in the area and he didn't score. Another receiver, I think Trinnaman, was wide open on the slant in the end zone.

Play action to Jamal, Kurtz lined up as inside receiver runs a corner route with one-on-one coverage. Balderree starts in motion and flares into the flat. Moroni, from the outside receiver position, runs a slant. Three defenders follow Balderree (two of which subsequently level him after the reception), leaving Moroni completely uncovered in the front of the endzone.

Third down was thrown to the back corner of the endzone but batted done by one of two defenders in the area.

Forth down was one of the ugliest made field goals you'll ever see.
