Razing Arizona: Sitake's Team Takes the Field

I remember the '08 loss down there, and their classless student section shouting "F*** the Mormons" so loud that it came through the TV mics.

Let's kick their assess. Then let's kick them again.

I think that was '06. We lost to them in '08 in the Vegas Bowl, when I sat in front of some of their classless fans who kept turning around and yelling in our faces every time something positive for AZ happened. TriplePapi was with me, as well as YardTime, IIRC.

I remember that well. I had let my sons off at the gate and parked a block or two away.

I remember some hispanic fellows walking behind me for the two blocks with a bunch of F-BYU, F-mormons, etc. I was going to ask to see their green cards and then I remembered that I am not a bigot and decided to just take the verbal insults.

Based on the Ticketmaster website's seating chart for the game, I estimate that BYU fans will easily outnumber Arizona fans, possibly 2:1.

Just the same, I won't be dropping the boys off, they will be walking with me. Is Arizona an open carry state. They all have permits. Is Utah's permit good in Arizona?

I guess I should edit in for those who don't understand my sense of humor, I AM KIDDING!!!!

It is open carry- anyone over 21 can pack w/out permission. Some restaurants have "no open carry" signs outside, along with "no shoes, no shirt, no service."

We went down to that game in '06. That's one trip I'd like to forget. Some of the worst fans I've run into in the NCAA.

Dude! I was so close to listing you as well, but then I thought maybe I was conflating 07 with 08. Sorry bro. In fairness to me, I had just met HFN for the first time the day before, so I was still a bit star struck. He then proceeded to ignore my texts for the entire weekend, later claiming his phone battery died.

Sat next to you for both. But I understand being star struck with HFN. He's dreamy. After the Arizona game I remember walking out to my car with DDD saying that unless Anae changed the offense that Hall had peaked. I was an Anae fan, but that game was exteremely frustrating.

HFN was too busy trying to get DDD to text him back all weekend. It was like a text triangle.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Yeah, I definitely remembered sitting next to you in 07--you were there with your wife (only been married for a year or so, IIRC). I can honestly still picture the "why on earth would you call a run play there?" look on your face after Unga fumbled inside the 5 right before the half.

From the '08 game, I remember a fumble getting blown dead that would have flipped the game on its head. And I remember BYU had tons of offensive production but had to settle for FG attempt after FG attempt, most of which Mitch Payne missed.

I attended the 2006 game in Tucson. The fans seemed fine to me - must not have been near the student section. That was a disappointing thousand-mile drive home. We said very little about the game.

I attended the 2007 game in Provo. I was concerned that Max didn't have nearly the zip on his ball that Beck had, but was pleased with the win.

I did not attend the Vegas Bowl against Arizona.
