Seems like a reasonable assumption to me!

I don't understand why Ute fans or Chris Hill wouldn't want to play BYU other than the possibility of playing a B10 school (like Wisconsin) in the Holiday Bowl (which is a better bowl).

I don't see what makes the Sun Bowl a better option other than the fact that maybe Miami goes there (and really, is Miami even a powerhouse anymore?). It's in El Paso against the ACC.

Bring the game on. Both sides should be happy there is a good possibility of playing in a season where they aren't. Bowl games are trash these days anyways unless your in a NY6 or CFP bowl.

I'll help you out: KW is selling a PAC 12 South Co-Championship season to cover an epic collapse in a year when the division was Utah's for the taking. Losing to BYU would invalidate that fake accomplishment and make Utah's season a big pile of crap to a large portion of the Utah fanbase.

I will agree that we did end up pissing away the season, we've looked like trash lately and we looked like garbage against Colorado, though I don't think it was an epic collapse when we were expected to be 5th in the PAC-12 South in the preseason media polls.

Though on the flip side, beating BYU would make the season even better. I think it would be a great game.

Hyperbole much? It wasn't an epic collapse. They lost a couple very losable games and one game they should have won. It happens to 5-0, 6-0, and/or 7-0 teams pretty much every season. The timing of the losses made them seem worse than if they had been earlier in the season, because the Utes were getting so much playoff talk. But I agree, he is trying to cover up the plunge with the co-champ nonsense.

The Oregon game really propped us up in the polls with how badly we beat them, Oregon looked terrible for a few weeks there and now they've actually came back to life. The USC and UCLA losses are understandable, however the real disappointment was Arizona.

The Oregon game really did do it. While everyone else recognized the fluke win, Ute fans eagerly bought the lie that they were the #3 team in the country. Which is why everyone else in the country is now scratching their heads (if they are even paying attention) to why Utah is upset to be slotted exactly where they should be.
