I lost count the number of times their fans would welcome us and say things like, "we are glad that you are here." What a nice bunch of folks. Edit: I was talking with one of my new friends from Nebraska after the game. He was commenting on how well BYU played and complementing the team. He mentioned that in all the years he has been coming to games and watching on TV he couldn't remember the last time the Huskers lost a season opener. So I had to look it up. It was 1985.Last edited by Uncle Ted; 09-05-2015, 11:33 PM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Had either of you been watching on TV, that piece of trivia would have been drilled into your head.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostLOL.

Great post. What a cool experience for you.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostSo I'm exhausted physically and emotionally. Almost didn't make kickoff and had to get up at 2:30 CDT to make my flight. It was one of the hottest games I've ever been too as well. It was bizarre for me wearing opposing colors in Memorial Stadium but I was all in for BYU.
Took pictures on the field afterwards. Last time I was on that field was to carry the goalposts off after beating Oklahoma in 1993 to finish an undefeated season and clinch a trip to the national championship game in the Orange Bowl. Pure elation when Mitch caught that pass. I have mixed feelings now as I am really excited to see how this team develops but feel awful for Taysom personally. He seems like an amazing kid who works hard and does everything right. It's sad when such an amazing talent has his body fail him so early.

I think they would, but speaking as someone who himself wishes nothing but pain and misery for ute fans whom I nevertheless quite respect beyond the realm of sports, I can respect your position. Good for you.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm saying it because you really think people on this board are going to give congrats on a Ute victory. Yes, well done, especially with the bitter-sweet Taysom tribute.Originally posted by NorthShoreCoug View PostLove the video, Jennerstein. Especially liked the little tribute to Taysom at the end, choked me up a little. So sad for Taysom. But it seems as if he'll do fine in life, and later in life, he'll look back at his BYU days with that good mix of joy and sadness we all feel at times."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

It was much better live and in color coming from my new Husker friends... It was almost like PBW was there instead of back in Texas cleaning the church.Originally posted by falafel View PostHad either of you been watching on TV, that piece of trivia would have been drilled into your head.
BTW, it was great to hear that Omaha made it to the game. I was sick when I read his flight was canceled. It seemed like all the BYU fans were down on the field after the game. It was the first time for me to see that wonderful stadium. We nearly missed our bus just soaking it all in after the game.

And Tanner Mangum is doing a live interview on SportCenter this morning. It seems all the sports channels are talking nothing but BYU and can't get enough.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostBYU is getting more media time today than Utah did on Thursday when it was basically the only game in the country."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Ha poor Utah, nobody cares. On Saturday Herbie said half the country doesn't even know Utah is in the PAC 12. The most compelling storyline from the Thursday game was the losing coach and a bus that was painted to look like him. your rival is the media darling, accomplishing something that hasn't been done in about 30 years and the most press you are getting is from a Richie sambora lookalike that flew to Lincoln to attend our game.
better luck next time, Utah. Is the Utah state game on Vs or PAC 12 network?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
