  • Speaking of traveling, was told by several Nebraska fans that they usually don't see so many visiting team fans show up. They were impressed by our numbers even though I thought we were given a pittance of an allotment.

best shirt I saw all day: "Me So Corny"

worst shirt i saw all day: "I'm a Mormon and I Still Bleed Husker Red" or some such.

also felt a little better knowing that even the bluest bloods of college football lineage make stupid slogan t shirts for their students. Did anyone else see all the student section "Riled Up" shirts for the new Mike Riley era?

It was a very good interview and surprisingly lengthy. Tanner talked about his mission and how his brother (ISU receiver who was also on the Top Ten Plays list yesterday) is the more athletic member of the family. Mangum was articulate and self-effacing; he's going to represent very well.

And thanks to AA's explanation of how the "ng" is pronounced "gn" in Latin, I kept hoping Tanner would pull this face at the end of each answer:

Also, that has to be a record for fewest penalties (4) by a BYU team in a season opener. They looked surprisingly disciplined with relatively few mental mistakes.

      • Nebraska keeps losing, Terry Wilson flips commitment from Nebraska to Oregon today, tweets picture of himself with Vernon Adams.

        • Even in my little corner the miracle throw/catch is getting noticed. I overheard 2 guys in the gym this morning dissect the play, LOLing at Nebraska.

better luck next time, Utah. Is the Utah state game on Vs or PAC 12 network?

Glad to read you had a good experience in Lincoln. Wish I could have been there with you but wanted the blessings associated with cleaning the church building you worshiped in once upon a time.

Terry Wilson flipping to Oregon was more or less expected. He is a very talented QB, but with a skill set that better fits Oregon's offense than the offense Riley envisions at Nebraska. The Huskers also have a verbal commit from Patrick O'Brien who is also a highly ranked QB with a better match of skill set. It's doubtful either Wilson or O'Brien will see the field next season when Oregon visits Lincoln but there's a greater possibility in 2017 when Nebraska makes the return trip. Do you know if Oregon will continue to offer QB Seth Green. He moved from Minnesota to Texas for his senior year and plays for my local HS. But he couldn't beat out the former JV QB, at least not yet. Green played more last Friday then he did in the opener, and he has played well. However, it is also clear that Wilson has a better opportunity to play at Oregon (as well as a better match of skill sets) than he does at Nebraska and competing with O'Brien.

              • Best part of the trip, TD and I sharing a primal scream straight out of quest for fire after the MMM. It was epic. NE fans are the nicest, most welcoming fans I have ever met. Took some getting used to being treated well by peeps in red. They were gracious before and after defeat. We all could learn from them.

The "sea of red" that I was continually told that would happen Friday night/saturday never materialized. While I would be envious to have their tailgate at BYU, it was not something that I "would never forget" or "have never experienced before". It's about on par with Texas, which wasn't impressive either. Both were overhyped, so my expectation was very high both times.

Stadium setup was great. Wifi in stadium was money.

                • Was it mentioned that BYU picked up a Million dollar paycheck for that heartbreak?

Not sure if your inquiry is serious, but Nebraska typically pays around $1 million to non-conference teams who visit Lincoln on a one-and-done deal. Nebraska's athletic budget is based on a 7-game home schedule so they schedule these type of games. For many programs, it's a win-win as Nebraska's revenue far exceeds the $1 million payout and for many visiting teams, the $1 million payout exceeds what they can make on a home game of their own.

I hope Nebraska schedules BYU in the future with the typical visit to Provo and return trip to Lincoln. But non-conference scheduling will be more difficult when the B1G goes to a 9-game conference schedule in 2016. Soonest opening on Nebraska's non-conference schedule is 2020.

I'd take five minutes of Taysom Hill playing over 4 years of Travis Wilson.

It was one of the hottest games I've ever been too as well. It was bizarre for me wearing opposing colors in Memorial Stadium but I was all in for BYU.

Took pictures on the field afterwards. Last time I was on that field was to carry the goalposts off after beating Oklahoma in 1993 to finish an undefeated season and clinch a trip to the national championship game in the Orange Bowl. Pure elation when Mitch caught that pass. I have mixed feelings now as I am really excited to see how this team develops but feel awful for Taysom personally. He seems like an amazing kid who works hard and does everything right. It's sad when such an amazing talent has his body fail him so early.
                                I was there as well.

Funnest game I've ever attended. What a roller coaster of emotions.

I am crushed about Taysom's injury. Nebraska fans were great.
