Interestingly enough the disparity between average star ranking is pretty slim.
From a starting line-up perspective, there isn't a great difference in talent between Nebraska and BYU. If there is a difference, it is with depth where Nebraska may have an advantage. Superior depth is not going to matter much on opening day although it might matter a little more with suspensions. Lack of quality depth begins to show over the course of a season when starters begin to miss time due to injuries.

      True.

Where BYU has a distinct advantage is at QB, which will likely impact the game more than depth at certain positions.

Tommy Armstrong played with maybe the 2nd best back in the country last year. Here are his game by game stats:

        Florida Atlantic

        15/29, 52%, 271 yds, 9.3 Avg, 2 TD, 0 Int, Rushing: 7 Att, 62 yds, 1 TD

        McNeese State

        16/31, 52%, 242 yds, 7.8 Avg, 2 TD. 1 Int, Rushing: 11 Att. 131 yds, 1 TD

        Fresno State

        12/21, 57%, 260 yds, 12.4 Avg, 3 TD, 0 Int, Rushing: 9 Att, 65 yds, 0 TD

        Miami

        9/13, 69%, 113 yds, 8.7 Avg, 2 TD, 1 Int, Rushing: 13 Att, 96 yds, 0 TD

        Illinois

        10/21, 48%, 166 yds, 7.9 Avg, 1 TD, 1 Int, Rushing: 10 Att, 66 yds, 0 TD

        #10 Michigan State

        20/43, 46%, 273 yds, 6.3 Avg, 0 TD, 2 Int, Rushing: 11 Att, 7 yds, 0 TD

        Northwestern

        18/29, 62%, 221 yds, 7.6 Avg, 0 TD, 0 Int, Rushing: 10 Att, 55 yds, 0 TD

        Rutgers

        14/22, 64%, 163 yds, 7.4 Avg, 2 TD, 1 Int, Rushing: 6 Att, 19 yds, 1 TD

        Purdue

        8/21, 38%, 118 yds, 5.6 Avg, 1 TD, 2 Int, Rushing: 13 Att, 70 yds, 1 TD

#20 Wisconsin (Melvin Gordon had 408 rushing yds! WOW!)

        6/18, 33%, 62 yds, 3.4 Avg, 1 TD, 1 Int, Rushing: 20 Att, 17 yds, 1 TD

        #25 Minnesota

        12/19, 63%, 223 yds, 11.7 Avg, 1 TD, 0 Int, Rushing: 12 Att, 45 yds, 0 TD

        Iowa

        12/27, 44%, 202 yds, 7.5 Avg, 4 TD, 2 Int, Rushing: 11 Att, 31 yds, 0 TD

        #24 USC

        32/51, 63%, 381 yds, 7.5 Avg, 3 TD, 1 Int, Rushing: 12 Att, 41 yds, 1 TD

        The dude is extremely inconsistent.

Taysom only played 4 games last year but lets compare:

        UCONN
        28-36 78% 308 yards 3 tds 0 ints 12 carries for 97 yards 1 td

        TEXAS
        18-28 64% 181 yards 0tds 1 int 24 carries for 100 yards and 3 tds

        Houston
        21-34 62% 200 yards 1 td 2 ints 26 carries for 160 yards and 1 td

        Virginia
        13-23 57% 180 yards 2 tds 0 ints, 17 carries for 70 yards

We can even include the quarter and a half he played against Utah state:

        8-11 72% 100 yards 1 td, 7 carries for 42 yards 1 td

              • I'm confused. Where is the outrage from cougjunkie about Michael Davis. It was so important to bring up the Patrick Kane investigation even though he doesn't care about hockey and to criticize anyone who ever was a fan of Kane, yet he is silent when one of the players on his team is charged with assault and rioting.

I'm expecting some consistency from the moral compass, cougjunkie. If a disagreement and assault over $.20 from a cab driver is an unforgiveable offense, certainly an assault over a parking spot would be the same.

Wait, I thought BYU was better off without Taysom?

You made the claim last fall that BYU was better off moving on without Taysom. One could only conclude that you meant Taysom in general whether healthy or injured.
