As the topic of the Pac 12 has come up, Here is the current state of the Pac 12, according to Massey's rating composite:

      12 Stanford
      18 Utah
      20 USC
      26 Oregon
      32 UCLA
      36 Wash St
      39 Cal
      49 ASU
      55 Wash
      62 Arizona
      94 Colorado
      99 Oregon St

The Pac 12 basically only one shot left to elevate the conference - Stanford gets to host Notre Dame. However, Stanford has the rivalry game with Cal this week, while ND gets to play a down BC team. Even then, Pac-12 teams have been too inconsistent this year to make a strong case to qualify for the playoffs. How can you put Stanford over any other 2-loss (or 1 loss) team when it is very likely they will not have beat a composite top 25 team in conference, as any South team would be knocked out with a championship game loss? The rationale gets lower for any other Pac 12 team out there.

Nebraska football is in pretty good shape this season

Police in Lincoln, Nebraska are currently investigating an alleged rape that took place at the house of Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong and wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp.

I knew there was something about Westerkamp I didn't like. At first I thought it was the mustache, but now I realize it was the rape.

The MWC is really awful this year. Crazy that some fans want to go back there. Lot's of poor teams there this year, and the highest (BSU) is only 52. Lot's of bad football in the west this year:

            52 Boise
            60 SDSU
            65 Air Force
            77 Utah St
            90 Nevada
            92 CSU
            93 New Mexico
            96 SJSU
            104 UNLV
            109 Fresno St
            122 Hawaii
            124 Wyoming

In the conference ratings they are behind the ACC, which is no surprise, but are also behind the MAC. That is pretty bad.

If the end-all be-all of existence was making it to the NY6 games, it would make sense to go back to the MWC. One could look at that lineup and see a clean shot at going 12-0.

Nothing like a good scandal involving a team's two best skill players on offense. Besides, Nebraska is overdue for another alleged rape incident - there's one about every decade. The last one involved two defensive players and an ex-girlfriend. If I remember correctly, the ex-girlfriend thought she would surprise her former lover by sneaking into his bedroom at a party and getting into his bed nude, presumably waiting for him to return. Meanwhile, the guy doesn't return home that night and his roommate decides to sleep in his bed since his bedroom was occupied by another couple who hooked up at the party. Well, one thing led to another... The grand jury ruled that it was consensual.

UCLA deserved the win. They made the plays and made the stops when they had to.

I wonder about Meyer not using his timeouts at the end of the game. Michigan State had all of their timeouts, so Michigan State was going to run whatever they wanted. It was still tied, why doesn't Meyer use his timeouts, conserve time and allow your defense to get settled and not give up another first down?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Michigan State's only leads over Michigan and Ohio state came with no time on the clock.
