  • I can't believe this stupid idea has gained this much traction. 269 posts? Ugh.

I've said from the beginning that anyone who thinks Bronco really doesn't care about winning like a billion times more than any of us is...well, stupid. He obviously knows football, and anyone who expected a defensive miracle last week is, well, stupid. Maybe he set himself up for that with the miracle he pulled off with Hill's firing but then he's just a victim of his own success. Problems run deeper than just a good rah, rah guy or less predictable play calling. We have D lineman that can't get pressure without numbers and secondary who arent good enough to make up for that. Nothing makes me think sitake could fix it.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Surfah won the thread a long time ago. We are just working on some tangents now.

I still keep it real for road games and SC games and go naked. In fact, at the SC game this past weekend i was able to end of up a pair of tickets and up $60, which was nice.
I am sure you are going to report this as income, right?

Two, with only one exception noted above, ticket prices dont go up they go down as you get close to game time. Still don't know why that one game was such a hard get.
Happiness is finding a scalper five minutes before game time with a hand full of tickets.

It's more than just one game. I simply can't get past mediocre in combination with all the weird crap Bronco does. I am talking about the incessant whining about fans whether it be complaining about getting booed in his first game as a head coach or whether it be comparing fans to pharisees and saducees; stupid slogans like "quest for perfection"; Spirit, Honor and Tradition for names on jerseys; mission president persona on the sideline; playing those with "life experience" over those with talent; and on and on we could go. Bronco is a nice guy, but he is a goober of a head coach. I can put up with a goober if they can put a product on the field to be proud of (think Les Miles type), but Bronco is mediocre and goofy, so I would support him leaving.

              • I know I have told this story before here, but screw you, I don't care, because it is by far my favorite ticket buying story.

The only game I ever thought I was going to be shut out of was the 2011 MWC Basketball tournament semis. Jimmermania was at its peak. There were hundreds of people milling around the T&M Center, and almost no one selling. The one or two guys I found selling were asking several hundred dollars for an upper bowl ticket. I was starting to think I wasn't going to get in when, a few minutes before tip-off, I see this old guy wearing a checkered blue button up shirt who was obviously a BYU fan meekly holding up a ticket, like he didn't know what to do with it. I went over and asked him if he was selling, and he said he was. I asked what he was asking for it, and he said "Well, I paid $60, so I guess $60". I gladly paid him. After about half an hour, I got a text saying there was an empty seat down in the lower bowl next to a couple of fine CSers, and right behind some old dude wearing a Jimmer shirt and basketball shorts. And that's where I watched Jimmer drop 52 on New Mexico. Still one of my favorite sports memories.

Aside from that, I have never had a problem getting tickets. I don't get quite as good a deal as Triplet, I am sure, because I like to get in a little early, and don't like to play it out too long. But I generally get better seats than I would have otherwise, and the good thing about being a BYU fan is that when you go someplace like Ole Miss or Fla State, it's not a real big game for the home fans, so I aften get the tickets for under face value. For the UCF game, I think I was $20 under face per ticket.

6-1 in the Pac-12 is better than 7-0 in the MWC. Wins at UCLA, Michigan, against USC. Yeah its the best start in school history and not close.

                          • Last year I was in LA and decided to go to a Dodger game since I had never been to a game in there. After eating at Phillipe's I walked up the hill to the stadium, which was a bit further than I expected, so I arrived in the bottom of the 1st innning. As I walk up, a scalper is packing up shop and heading home but can tell from my country bumpkin look that I need a ticket. $23 got me a 12th row lower concourse on the first base line. Best seats I have ever had for a MLB game.

I thought it was closer. It was not. I took the bus after the game.
