2014 College Football Season
So you think such a scenario would have ZERO impact on pressure to expand?Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI agree with Leb, as much as I love flystripper, that the B12 gets left out. I disagree with JL and surf that it benefits BYU at all.

Jimbo Fisher just said on the postgame, after being asked "What do you have to say to the committee about their decision?" and he said "There isn't any decisions to be made. We just finished making it for them."Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

It'd be cool if they let OSU in to punish the B12 for not determining a champion, but I doubt they will and kinda hope they don't.
I'm sympathetic to FSU being ranked 4th since they've looked shaky in at least half their games, but I agree with the seeming majority that wins and losses still have to be prioritized over advanced metrics/style points.

Basically what all of you are saying is that the committee didn't really believe TCU was third. If they really believed that TCU was third there is no evidence to drop them. I don't necessarily agree that that are really third but if the committee believes that they are, then they keep their spot.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Agreed. However what did TCU do to make the committee think that they are not as good as they were last week?Originally posted by USUC View Post52-0 against a top 15 team (completely shutting down a Heisman runner up) is a lot better than 55-3 against a dud.Dyslexics are teople poo...

I just don't see how you can claim you're the champion when you tied with a team that beat you. If TCU and Baylor played today, and TCU was unbeaten and Baylor had one loss, and Baylor won the game, the sentiment would be to put Baylor in the playoff from the Big 12 and nobody besides TCU fans would argue.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostOk. They might be deserving of being the big12 champ but they might not be the best. Unless you believe that home field means nothing.
Homefield obviously means something, but I just don't feel like the West Virginia loss outweighs the H2H game that occurred. They both had bad games on the road against WVU. TCU won by a point. That doesn't make them better than Baylor who they lost to. TCU fans probably think their win over Minnesota matters, but I guess I am not that impressed with Minnesota either. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

I would agree that you are probably right. I think it's unfair but the committee may just be dead set on TCU. Btw, what is your personal opinion, not what you think will happen? Who deserves to be in?Originally posted by Flystripper View PostAgreed. However what did TCU do to make the committee think that they are not as good as they were last week?
