Some things are more crazy than others.Originally posted by All-American View PostIt IS crazy. But so is leaving Ohio State out. I don't know that there were many claiming it was crazy to think it could happen, but there were definitely some who thought it probably wouldn't happen. Big difference, IMO.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostSure were a lot of folks claiming it was crazy to think tOSU could get in over TCU.
If FSU jumps TCU after a convincing win by the Frogs, Ohio State is in.I'm like LeBron James.

FSU is in no matter what. It comes down to TCU vs tOSU. Baylor seems like a long shot, but I think they as good a case as TCU.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI don't know that there were many claiming it was crazy to think it could happen, but there were definitely some who thought it probably wouldn't happen. remember when tOSU lost to Va Tech? Ya, that loss is a lot worse than TCU's loss on the road to a top 10 team. Lets' not just think about yesterday. We are talking about the entire season.Originally posted by dabrockster View PostI would say a 59-0 schlacking is MUCH better than TCU's win now..
Let not forget this is a team doing it with their 3rd strong QB.
TOSU is te only school to lose 2 Heisman candidates in the same year.. How about them apples.."Take it to the Bank"

Tcu is the only team whose resume is worse today than it was the day before. Everyone else's SOS went up, theirs dropped. Who is more deserving? It's hard to leave out any of the choices. The fact that a conference will be left out and the fact that the big 12 has 2 teams being considered when the SEC only has one, tells me this thing is going to 8 within 4 years.

It appears likely you'll get your wish. Alabama will be #1 and Ohio State with its name recognition, especially over.the likes of TCU and Baylor, will get in at #4. I don't think we'd be seeing as much of a push for Ohio State if Baylor and TCU were Texas and Oklahoma. Of course, Oklahoma also has primetime meltdown history though they did beat Bama last year.Originally posted by YOhio View PostYou've almost convinced me that Ohio state should get that 4-spot. Always fun to see a prime time meltdown by the Buckeyes.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Oklahoma State hurt the Big 12 yesterday. Their win will likely drop Oklahoma out of the top 25 diminishing Baylor and TCU's wins against them.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostTcu is the only team whose resume is worse today than it was the day before. Your apples are actually a pile of shit. Who cares how many potential heisman candidates you lost and how does that figures into a playoff selection committee?

Right. My point all along has been that TCU is safe, because FSU couldn't jump them and FSU is lock. I still don't see how FSU jumps TCU after yesterday's games, but if the committee can somehow justify that jump, TCU won't just go from 3 to 4 taking FSU's place, but from 3 to 5.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostFSU is in no matter what. Ohio State has beat 3 ranked teams, TCU has beat 4 ranked teams and both have one loss. TCU's loss came on the road by 3 against a team in the discussion for top 4, while OSU's loss came at home by 14 against a team with a sub .500 record in the ACC. Common opponent is Minnesota - OSU beat them 31-24, TCU beat them 30-7. Having said all that, based on everything I'm hearing, as I mentioned above, if FSU jumps TCU, I think the committee takes OSU over TCU, despite both Baylor and TCU probably being more deserving than the Buckeyes.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 12-07-2014, 08:55 AM.I'm like LeBron James.
