    Yeah, you're right - they're not disciplined.

The penalties fall at the feet of the coaches, IMO. Players probably aren't held accountable.

Racial stereotype. Hard-working, disciplined, not very athletic. That's BYU football and basketball.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks that BYU football is disciplined is a racist. Except for you, Solon.

Solon is kind of racist. You should see the mascot for the college team he cheers for.

I think many who are not familiar with Navy would be surprised at how much money Naval Academy Athletic Assn has and the type of perks they offer. If what I read is right he makes 1.6 million per year. No way does Coach Ken heads to Provo.

                • Guys, you are aware that we already have a football coach, right?

Yes, and gladly so (save his allegiance to Howell). But i doubt Bronco continues on past his contract.

                          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

He said "the man upstairs." Clearly a reference to his defensive coordinator.

Sure, it would get blowed-up on occasion, but the bulk of the byu's opponents would be toast. A well executed option attack is a thing of beauty.

At its essence, a lot of this spread stuff is just option concepts where you move the ball laterally, create defensive dilemmas, and try to use the offense's main advantage (knowing where the play is going & when the play is starting) to its fullest potential.

Taysom Hill could've been one hell of an option QB. It's not like he is known for gutting teams with his pocket-passing.
EDIT: imagine Lasike at FB to boot.
Agree that a well executed option attack is a thing of beauty. My point of reference is Barry Switzer's wishbone at OU and Tom Osborne's power-option at Nebraska. I'm also conscious of the types of athletes needed in the backfield to run a successful option attack and I question whether BYU will be able to successfully recruit those type of players. Given the legacy of BYU's QBs, I question whether BYU should even try to run any variety of the triple option. I think BYU should stick with the spread option if they run any option at all.
