Breaking Badger: BYU vs. Wisconsin

I'm unsure of what attire to wear to the game. My choices:
a) All white, temple attire- the ok to wear outside the big recommend desk set.
b) Heavy gortex jacket, with gloves, and a hoodie. It is is Wisconsin, in November!. The problem is my jacket is black (as is my president. Unfortunately, I don't own a Maybach).
c) Lots of layers, but making sure wear the my jacket on the outside, so when my dismayed face is captured on ESPN, during WI obscene chant, the world knows i represent.

d) my preferred choice would be to get that heavy blue BYU jacket I often see Dr. Kimball wearing on the sidelines. DDD, can you please bring one along for me? TIA

We get it. You're going to the game. Nobody cares what you wear.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostI'm unsure of what attire to wear to the game. My choices:

Actually it was a kind of serious, rhetorical question. At what point (temperature) does warmth/comfort supersede team loyalty? I always try and wear the appropriate colors to byu games, but sitting and freezing for 3 hours, doesn't' sound like fun way to spend a Saturday.Last edited by Art Vandelay; 11-06-2013, 12:57 PM.

C'mon, Art. At least have the dignity to privately PM Triple Dad to make sure you have his pre-approval before you pack.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View Post

Who said I didn't? I thought it was required for him to approve everyone's posts. Why aren't you going to be at the game on Saturday? You could even drive through a state that actually came through for Brother Romney, on your way to the game.Originally posted by YOhio View PostC'mon, Art. At least you can DVD the game and watch it later.Originally posted by YOhio View PostBecause my daughter is playing in a soccer tournament. #familyfirst #footballfifthDon't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

A look at the Badgers' schedule/results this year:
- Home win against UMASS (45-0) - UMass beat Miami (OH) by a touchdown about a month ago for its only win of the season. Most of its losses have been blowouts.
- Home win against Tenn. Tech (48-0) - TnT destroyed an NAIA team at the beginning of the year. Its only other two wins are tight games against Hampton and Indiana State. All other games are losses, mostly against Ohio Valley Conference mates (FCS).
- Road loss against ASU (30-32) - They arguably got jobbed by the refs in this one, but the loss stands. ASU has road losses against Stanford and ND, but ASU otherwise has steamrolled teams like USC, Washington, WSU and Colorado, averaging around 55 points per game in those contests. ASU is currently at the top of the PAC12 South Division.
- Home win against Purdue (41-10) - Purdue is - how can I put this - not good at all. The Boilermakers squeaked out a home win against Indiana State (who apparently is the doormat's doormat) for its only win against seven losses this season. Most of the losses have been by over two touchdowns.
- Road loss against tOSU (24-31) - The Badgers gave tOSU its closest game of the year. Abbrederis, the top Wisc. WR, had a nice game with around 200 yards receiving.
- Home win against Northwestern (35-6) - The Badgers had their way with a Wildcats squad that was ranked highly earlier this year but is on a five-game skid after tOSU took their manhood in Evanston. This win looked nicer at the time than it does now.
- Road win against Illinois (56-32) - Illinois has beaten Cinci, Miami (OH) and an FCS team. They are winless in B1G play.
- Road win against Iowa (28-9) - This is a decent win against a decent team. Iowa (5-4 overall, 2-3 B1G) has beaten the teams it is supposed to beat and lost to the teams to which it is supposed to lose. Wisconsin took advantage of some turnovers and played strong red-zone defense to keep the Hawkeyes in single-digit points.
Looking at that, I see one FCS win (Tenn. Tech), three blowouts against bad teams (UMass, Purdue, Illinois), two wins against middle-of-the-road teams (NW, Iowa), and two close losses against ranked teams (tOSU, ASU).
After BYU, the Badgers have Indiana, @Minnesota, and PSU. Wisconsin should win all of those. That means they're looking at 9-3 or 10-2, depending on this weekend. It would be a great win for BYU, and the first non-conference home loss for Wisky in a long time."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

The key to comfort while watching the game in style is layers. Get yourself some layers- hit up REI and get some long underwear if you must and don't be the dude in a quilt.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View Post

Nice write-up. If BYU had played Wisconsin's schedule we would likely have the same record. I think the competitive games on the road against tOSU and ASU are an indication that this is an underrated team.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostA look at the Badgers' schedule/results this year:

Wisconsin not having Abbreddaris would be a huge.

Borland is still nursing his hamstring. He'd be a huge loss for Wisconsin too if he is unable to go. He's saying he's playing, but it's unclear whether he has practiced this week or not.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostWisconsin not having Abbreddaris would be a huge.

If Abbredaris is out, BYU really only needs to worry about their tight end Pedersen. BYU can load the box and sellout against the run."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic
