That's about what the sportsbook site I was looking at said too. Most of the action going to BYU because of their history on the road ATS the last 2-3 years.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI was looking at the stats on the site I use and 64% of the action on the game is BYU to win at +250."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I assume that's a good thing?Originally posted by Surfah View PostArt Vandelay, here are some interesting stats for you I just came across: BYU is 13-5 ATS their last 18 road games. And they are 9-0 ATS when they're the underdog.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

I know what it stands for, I just don't know the vernacular. If BYU is 5-0 ATS, does that mean that BYU covered the spread? Then does that mean that BYU won? (Since the spread is basically the difference between a tie game?)Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostATS = "Against The Spread"

Cover the spread usually means cover but not win. The common vernacular for that is to "win outright." However, technically an underdog who wins outright also covers the spread.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostI know what it stands for, I just don't know the vernacular. No, that is not how a spread works. Let's suppose BYU is a 7-pt underdog but they end up losing only by 4 pts. That would count as beating the spread. I.e, they performed above Vegas expectations and those who bet on BYU (to cover) would have made money.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostI know what it stands for, I just don't know the vernacular.
