They did keep themselves out of a bowl to avoid it in the future. Something Ohio State should have done.

They sat out two bowls already so I didn't expect a bowl ban.

9 scholarships instead of 30? Sure, why not.

It is astounding the disparity of the punishment USC received when compared to very single other sanction in over the last decade. Even pen state after sanctioning child abuse just had their scholarship penalty reduced.

It's pretty amazing to me that in the face of credibility issues the NCAA doles out this kind of punishment.

I keep getting pissed off thinking about it. Very annoying.

USC was absolutely over punished by the NCAA in comparison to other punishments.

It is amazing how accommodating the NCAA has become since the discussion of forming a Division 4 or leaving the NCAA completely has picked up.

We should all be confident that the oversight will be completely fair and equally administered at this time though. We can be confident, because the NCAA would tell us we should be.

So, the Fake U gets a slap on the wrist. The NCAA sucks.

That and the fact that the NCAA effed up the investigation into Miami as noted in The System. Also, it seems that the time it took the NCAA to do their investigation was also a factor. I have read several arguments that it was as if Miami was already on sanctions the last 3 years because recruits and coaches weren't sure what the NCAA would dish out.

That said, the penalty is essentially the same that Boise State got for $4,900 of improper benefits. Chew on that. Also, considering what Frank Haith did and getting slapped 5 games is an absolute joke. Bruce Pearl lied about a BBQ and got a show cause. What a joke.

Bruce Pearl and USC have to be livid today.

I'm past the anger, more saddened that our current AD & school president sit idly by and do nothing. I voiced my displeasure by not donating and renewing my season tix three years running. The NCAA blows!

                              SipiTau!!!

Im still not past the anger. A few annoyances about this latest punishment: Miami doesnt have to vacate any wins...nothing, not a single game. And if you add up scholarship reductions for Miami, Oregon, Boise State, and Ohio State, still less than for SC. All of those cases involved allegations of direct involvement on the school's part.

                              Haden has no stones.
