I was going to post this before I saw your first response:

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

These other back stabbing a-holes have already posted it, but the SC Texas rose bowl is the greatest game I have ever attended because so much was on the line...and it was simply a great game, anyway. A couple of months earlier I was in south bend watching 4th and 9 Leinart to jarrett followed by the Bush Push into the end zone only seconds after the refs had to clear the Irish student section from the field.

the span of a few months I saw two games that were infinitely better than meaningless OU vs Boise State.

        • I enjoyed the first 3.5 quarter of that game. I still remember a lot of that game. It's certainly one of the most memorable non-BYU games on my list. The Vince Young Texas/USC title game is one that is higher on my list.

          • Bush push game was as good of ending, that ridiculous 4th down throw to Williams?

End of the Oregon/Auburn game was pretty good, Newton fumble, Oregon offense finally produces and goes for and gets a 2 point, Dyer not down.

Quantifying what is the best game is an impossible task. The end of BSU/Oklahoma was fun and exciting. Seems like every few weeks there is an amazing game that goes back and forth and ends dramatically, often when it happens on a big stage. The TCU/BSU game I remember as being a great game, but I'm old and don't remember things as well as I used to.

            • One of the best thing about the bush push game is that the student section had stormed the field....one of the most cardinal of sins for fans and something that really almost never happens in south bend. Traditionally reserved fans were talking sh** the whole game because Leinart was pretty much done with school and for some reason had enrolled in a social dance class to get his final credits. They were making all sore of dance jokes. When Bush pushed him forward and Matt spun around with his arms in the air and fell back into the end zone, my brother taunted the fans in front of us, telling them that Matt learned that move in his dance class. That stadium was dead silent for a few seconds after the refs signaled TD and I was sure I had seen one of the most exciting games of my life. Little did I know what was in store a couple of months later.

Dumb students. Don't ever run onto the field until the game is actually over.

We shut their offense out last year. I highly doubt it will be a track meet.

                    Completely different offense this year.

                    • Back in my first year of the accounting program at BYU (junior core) I had to take a managerial accounting class. The professor was brand new, just hired from some other school. Being hired by the BYU accounting program is kind of like being called up to the big leagues and BYU doesn't miss a lot on its hires. Well, this guy was awful, just awful. He lost control of the class early on and never really gained any momentum or respect. Granted this was the accounting program at BYU so the students still showed up, did the work, and were overall respectful, but when evaluation time came this professor got roasted big time. Honestly he deserved it, but the dean threw out the evaluations and blamed it all on a "mob mentality". Needless to say, the professor lasted only 2 or 3 more semesters until the school figured out he was terrible at teaching. He was finally pushed out the door.

Guess where he ended up eventually......Boise State.

You could have just done this.
