I just looked on CG for the old BLUE RIVER SHOOTouT game thread and I believe it is one of many that mikewaters deleted, but I did see the thread in which Rocky Balboa scooped everyone with the announcement of the game.

Even back in 2008 we were making BYU71 schedule jokes.

        Definitely was.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

          You are right, it was.

Im trying to think of the game BYU71 said he was not attending because he didnt think we would win. Maybe it was the Texas game.

I wound up making a chilling prediction about the BLUE RIVER SHOOTouT that came true. Very eerie.

Probably nothing. I applaud Holmoe for doing a better job than I thought he could. I don't applaud he, Bronco or BYU for leading us to believe he could do a better job than he has done.

Look, I deserve the ribbing as I have complained about schedules for a long time. I really want to attend good games at LES, but forgive me I have a hard time justifying laying out $2,400 for the games last year and next. That's me. Maybe I am a cheap skate, untrue fan, old and senile, but I think I am better off watching the games on TV and spending that money on say a trip to Pebble Beach with the boys.

Next year you're going to get to see Taysom Hill competing for a Heisman and BYU trying to run the table and God willing Jimmy Mac returning to accept his HoF induction. Quit yer bitching.

Seriously, why do you or anyone esle care? However, I am not one who wishes to continue to get under the skin of people who have thin skins, therefor I pledge never to complain about a schedule on this board again.

When we left they wished us a safe trip home and everything was good. The guy next to my wife was just recently divorced and spent most of the game telling her about it. I'm not sure if he was just looking for a friendly ear or trying to line up a date if something happened to me. At the BSU game last year I ask several BYU how they were treated and no one said they were treated bad or had any crap said to them. Fans like BYU71 sat by several years ago are the exception and not the rule like it sounded kccouger was trying to make.

They were all BYU students. My son told me Wednesday that we knew of some BYU kids who had camped out since Tuesday and were going to wear BSU gear on the front row of the student section.
Poorly worded know my part. I was surprised at the poor BSU fan behavior because I attended the game in Boise last year and thought their fans were just fine. We joked back and forth with BSU fans about the ineptitude of our respective offenses.

The fans that came to Provo showed less class in my experience. I should not have used the term 'overall'.

How many tickets do you get for $2,400? My 8 cost a little more than that here.

I care because I'd give my right nut to sit back in LES 6-7 times a year. When I was there I went to the games to see BYU, not who they played. I miss it terribly. So much so I have been looking for new career opportunities that could bring me back to Utah. That place is hallowed ground. It's where Jimmy Mac played. Where the #1 team in the country went down. Where Ty won his Heisman. Where Staley tip toed into the end zone. I miss cheering on my boys in blue. I miss being a part of the crowd. I miss the pre-game buzz. I miss the roar of the fans and rising to my feet for the big play. I miss the camaraderie of Cougar fans. I miss clapping and singing and I even miss fist rolling. I miss floating out of LES after a Cougar victory. It is pure euphoria. There is nothing like that. Cars honking horns. High fiving strangers. Random yelling and cheering and enough smiles to light up the Y. I even miss being able to commiserate with fellow fans with a shake of the head after losses. And I miss coming home and experiencing it all over again on TV. You can stay home. You can watch games in HD on a big TV. That's what I have to do. It isn't the same. The highs will never be as high if you weren't there. The lows will never be as low either. But isn't that why we're fans? To live and die a little every weekend with our team? I'd kill to have season tickets and be able to go. Hell I almost bought a ticket to the Boise St game when KVN called for fans to turn out because they hadn't sold the game out yet.

If giving my right nut to be able to sit in LES for every home game meant living in UT, pass. If it meant being wealthy enough to fly/drive in for every home game, sign me up! I can think of a lot greater sacrifices.

I'd take Utah over Virginia in a heartbeat. If I could take my job there we'd move without hesitation. Gidget feels the same way.

I appreciate your attitude and would never call you nuts or tell you to shut the hell up because I don't agree with you. That's just me.
