Defensive turnovers

3-outs in third quarter
Lasike going down at first contact
Bouts of poor tackling
Leavitt on the corner blitz
Red zone false starts
Not capitalizing on turnovers

Of course any complaint is to be taken somewhat with a grain of salt after an impressive win, but the lackluster 2nd half performances are starting to piss me off a bit. They seem to start the game aggressive in the pass game, Hill is able to get in a rhythm and looks really good. The second half rolls around, they take the foot off the gas pedal, run on 1st and 2nd down into the line, Hill doesn't have a chance to get in that rhythm and before we know it we're watching Arellano after 3 and outs and they are giving the opponent several opportunities to do good things. 3 weeks in a row we've seen some form of this, and it's a problem, IMO.

I think this was a deliberate attempt to keep BYU form RUTS on Boise by Bronco. He has a lot of respect for Petersen. I sure the hell hope he doesn't do the same with Anderson at Wisky if they are up big.

I guess he was worried about Paul Johnson and the Houston coach too. Anae's just a nice dude perhaps.

It's just flat stupid to take your foot off the gas up three scores at the half. I sort of understand why he wouldn't want to embarrass Petersen, but the time to ease up is not in the third quarter.

Also, Taysom running the read option in the 4th when the game is no longer in doubt was infuriating. There was no reason for him to be in there. We already lost him on a meaningless play once... do we really want to repeat that? The coaching staff seems hell bent on it.

I am convinced Anae scripts his first 20-30 plays. Which are usually more innovative and make sense. Once he gets past that he struggles to figure out what works ans what doesn't.

I'm hoping next season that Taysom will have more autonomy to make audibles in the plays being sent in. GFGH is not geared currently to allow for that.
