I think BYU wins this because of UVA. If the Cougs were 2-0, and had just dismantled Texas (another thing that probably doesn't happen with a win in Charlottesville), they would be ranked, fans would be talking about BCS aspirations, etc. Basically, it would be like the TCU games a few years ago. No matter how much the coaches tell the players to not lose focus, they are still 18-23 YO college kids. I think most of them understand, no other success can compensate for failure in the LES (against Utah). Like every Holy War RDR, it will be closer than I would like, but KVN is not going is whole career without beating Utah.

i actually like a lot of the royal gear currently at the book store. if everyone didn't already have the "royal, strong, and true" nike shirt i'd definitely get it.

KW has always done a masterful job defending our passing attack. If I had to pick one to be better at offensively going into a Utah game, pass or run, I'd choose run. Feeling pretty good about this game right now...

Wilson looks much improved. It will be interesting to see if BYU can get the same pass rush with just 3 or 4 that they did Saturday. I doubt it. Also someone is going to have to spy Wilson to keep him from breaking off a long run.

I am not sure Wilson is any more athletic than Ash. Wilson is much improved but I haven't been overly impressed with his arm, he benefits a lot from the YAC his recievers get. Dres Anderson is a monster in the open field. Fitzgerald doesn't scare me that much.

Taysom commented after the game that he could have had more yards in the 4th but he stopped making the right read and just kept handing it off. He said the only record he was concerned with was the W-L.

He may have also wanted to prevent any damage to his ACL.

it's going to be important for taysom to get some sort of passing rhythm early. it may be ugly for a while, but it has to happen. utah's read option scheme is going to be much more sophisticated (and better).

I know it's not ideal for BYU fans back East or for those attending the game, but as citizen of the Pacific time zone, I love when BYU plays in late games. With multiple kids now playing sports, Saturdays are freaking nuts for our family. It's always nice to get all that stuff out of the way and watch the game in real time.
