Weather, only two games played, crappy play in one and good play in another, etc. This why I don't see how BYU lovers can draw any realistic conclusion on how good or bad BYU is at this point. I rest my case until the same BYU team shows up for multiple games.Originally posted by Sizzle View PostJamal Williams ran for 182 yards. Paul Lasike ran for 87 yards on 15 carries. Hoffman had 2 catches, each for around 30 yards. Yes, Taysom was 9/26 and has some things to figure out in the passing game. But it wasn't like Taysom played 1 on 11 and single handidly beat Texas. Don't forget, BYU played Utah down to the wire last year with a QB playing with a broken back who racked up a QBR of 22 (yes, 22) and completed under 50% of his passes, throwing for less than 200 yards, with BYU trailing all night.
Say what you will, but BYU has played in two shit for weather games (2 games each with 2 hour delays!) this year. I don't care who you are at any level in football, it is hard to establish a rhythm in any offense, especially throwing the ball in the rain. The key to the game is going to be BYU's turnovers. If they don't turn the ball over, they win going away.

I doubt the same byu team shows up. School records for rushing yards don't happen every week. But 200 yards rushing in back to back games is pretty special.Originally posted by AggieIam View PostWeather, only two games played, crappy play in one and good play in another, etc. This why I don't see how BYU lovers can draw any realistic conclusion on how good or bad BYU is at this point. What! We aren't going to run for 550 yards in back to back games? We must blow. I mean we are at home again.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI doubt the same byu team shows up. Please inform me, coach. I can read/watch ESPN has good as anybody else. I'd like to think that I understand statistics and what not better than most. I can look up the numbers just like you can. So please inform me of what I'm missing when forming my opinion on BYU's level of play at this point. My whole point is that BYU played horribly in one game and good in the next. How can that possibly a good enough set of data to come to any opinion of BYU at this point in the season.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostYou're a fucking dork. It's gets frustrating taking football with fucking dorks. It would be like you talking to me about comic con. I won't get it.
And what the hell is comic con?

Part of the problem might be that understanding statistics has very little relevance to understanding football.Originally posted by AggieIam View PostPlease inform me, coach. Horribly? You must have missed the part on espn where they ran for almost 200 yards. Jamal Williams had 144 and is the nations 2nd leading rusher, not Taysom Hill. The elements played a huge factor along with the opening game of the season. By the fourth quarter they settled down and had 200 yards total offense in that quarter alone.Originally posted by AggieIam View PostPlease inform me, coach. Spoken like a man who hasn't watched the game. I'm not surprised that's what you think this game "shows" you.Originally posted by AggieIam View PostIMO, all Saturday's Texas beat down shows is that BYU is better at home than on the road. So you're saying you're having a hard time forming an opinion from looking at the box score? I can understand why you would feel that way.Originally posted by AggieIam View PostPlease inform me, coach. I can read/watch ESPN has good as anybody else. As has been said there were aspects of Virginia that were fantastic. Byu's defense in both games was very good. We are suspect at field corner but the team in both games has compensated with getting great pressure with 3 and 4 man rushes.
Offensively BYU has been one dimensional. Some of that is weather. Some of it is Taysom's accuracy issues, some of it is wr drops and some of it was inconsistent pass protection. The running game was solid against UVA and incredible against Texas. At this point Aggie-i-have-not-watched-the-game-land we know quite a bit about BYU.Dyslexics are teople poo...

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
