Wrubell says that the delay is not due to lightning, rather because of general inclement conditions.

Holmoe says the following on Twitter: "game officials have suspended activities at LES. Once the start-up is given, countdown clocks will begin at 55:00."

How many lightning delays has BYU had in, say the last 30 years? I remember the Tulsa game, but that's about it.

Kevin Eubank/KSL thinking the last lightning looks to be about 5. Game would start at just about 6 with that scenario.

*I'm just updating this because I have access to BYUTV and I know a lot of folks seemed to have questions that were going unanswered. If you want me to quit updates for you guys, then by all means, tell me to stop.*

It's appreciated here. We are fortunately still in the car but just listening to the radio.

Please keep updating, anyone who has info.

I will say that this weather delay is much more comfortable than last week's. Last week we crammed into an engineering building with a couple of thousand other people. It got pretty stuffy and people were just sitting on the floor wherever they could find some room. This week, we were passing by the Hinckley building just as everything started getting serious, so we ducked in. There are about 20 other fans in here, so not too crowded. Plus, my daughter and I snuck into some sort of conference room/library. It is cool, spacious, and there happen to be two computers sitting in here, so I can monitor the situation (without wasting phone batteries) while my daughter plays on webkinz.com

I heard that too but he is wrong. I am still sitting at home about two miles from the stadium and there was a lightning strike in our neighborhood. Flash and boom were instantaneous. And LOUD.

Yep. We have seen several so far. Also the streets are like rivers in some spots. Saw some students in knee deep water on Canyon Road.

Quarter mile south of the stadium, it is still raining, but not very hard.

I guess I won't be riding my scooter to the game today.

The footage of the storm rolling in over the stadium is unbelievable.

This has to be a bigger problem for Texas than BYU. The soggy, wet, slippery field will slow down Texas who has much better speed. I would also think BYU will ride out this storm more comfortably than Texas.
