It appears WR Kendall Sanders' ankle has held up well after his return to practice on Tuesday and should be able to contribute on Saturday.
If Sanders is close to full strength, he could end up having a big day for the Longhorns. I'm told the plan going in is to try to isolate Daje Johnson on one side of the field early in the game to see if BYU shades a safety toward him to provide help over the top.
Mike Davis and Sanders would be on the opposite side, with one likely to be drawing single coverage. It will be up to David Ash to figure that out quickly and get the ball down the field to whomever is facing man coverage.
BYU is battling injuries in the secondary. Last week, the Cougars relied on JUCO transfer Robertson Daniel making his first start at field corner and walk-on Skye PoVey at boundary corner.
Starting middle linebacker Uani Unga is questionable, and senior CB Mike Hague, a would-be starter, is doubtful.

BYU's best receiver Cody Hoffman, who had 100 catches for 1248 yards and 11 TDs last season, missed last week's game against Virginia with a hamstring injury. But Hoffman has practiced this week and is considered probable for the Cougars against Texas.
No one quite knows how effective BYU sophomore QB Taysom Hill is throwing the ball. He only had 71 pass attempts in two starts in 2012 (completing 59.2 percent for 425 yards, 4 TDs and 2 INTs).
Last week, in a driving rain, Hill attempted 40 passes, completing just 13 for 175 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.
The INT, which went through the hands of RB Jamaal Williams, set up Virginia's game-winning TD with 2:36 left to play.

Look for Texas to use a lot more of the three-back or "pod" personnel this week.
The offensive coaches love that personnel because it gives the defense a balanced look (and doesn't tip off a strong or weak side).
And it's the easiest personnel grouping to shift from a power running set to three-wide and completely change the offense without having to substitute - depending on what personnel the defense has on the field.
If BYU is in a base defense, shifting to three wides likely gives Texas a matchup of speed against a linebacker or safety, etc.
And there are a lot more wrinkles coming out of the "Diamond Formation."

Desmond Harrison might have some extra incentive against the Cougars stemming from his online course credits snafu with BYU last month that caused him to miss most of fall camp with the Longhorns.
That missed time in camp caused Harrison to fall behind from a conditioning standpoint, and the JUCO transfer left tackle was cramping at the end of the Texas-New Mexico State game.
Harrison will probably be rotated into the BYU game Saturday on the third series - like last week - and will play as much as his current conditioning will allow (especially with Lavell Edwards Stadium sitting at an altitude of 4,630 feet).
We're hearing as soon as Harrison's conditioning will allow it, he'll enter the starting lineup. At that point, Stacy Searles' will put the next best four linemen in the starting lineup with Harrison - after doing a lot of shuffling to determine who those four will be.

I didn't know David Nixon was working for BYU Network now. Nixon does a nice breakdown except for the 3 keys part where he loses it a bit. Nice little exchange here with LHN and BYU Network

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Texas has won its last 13 non-conference road games. All good winning streaks have to come to an end...
Maybe not today but they have to come to an end sometime.
