That wasn't Meyer's fault. The program was fine when he left. The fault for that was making the terrible Muschamp hire. Utah and Bowling Green both were just fine in the aftermath of Meyer leaving.

Can't we all just agree that all teams from Texas are awful and should lose every game. I'm thrilled that aTm and Texas aren't playing. One fewer lose/lose game.

According to Jeff Lebowski "Nobody cares about Nebraska". Although we see things differently with Mack Brown, he's more right than not when it comes to Nebraska and this board.

As for Omaha 680, he's foremost a BYU fan and seems to have become feint of heart with regards to the Cornhuskers after Frank Solich was fired. In contrast, I'm primarily a Nebraska fan that continues to cheer for BYU. My loyaties did not change as a BYU student during the 1984 season and attending every home game that year. On 9/5/2015 there will be no doubt who I will be cheering for.

As for Mack Brown, perhaps his time in Austin was up. Time will tell whether that will prove to be the right move. Lebowski thinks it was time for a change and that Mack had his chance to turn things around. I think Longhorn, Inc. should have been more patient and that Mack could have brought the Longhorns back to the NC conversation.

As far as OU fans expecting to win regular conference championship, the Sooners have done that for quite a while now under Wilkinson, Switzer, and Stoops. Texas has done it under Royal and that was without being in the same conference as OU. I guess Longhorn fans feel they deserve better - to win regular conference championships. I don't blame them.

It would be pretty fun to watch JL grit his teeth and cheer for Urban.

It would also be fun to see how dabrockster feels about Urb.

Wouldn't happen. Some of us have a little integrity.

This does not speak highly of Whittingham.

To set the record straight, BYU was always #1 and Nebraska #1A for me growing up. I remember playing football against my brother when we were kids and I insisted on being Steve Young and he was Mike Rozier. But I was all in as a Cornhuskers fan. The Frank Solich firing really rubbed me the wrong way and I loathed Bill Callahan and Steve Pederson for inflicting Bill Callahan on us. Pelini has been ok but I haven't returned to my former rabid Cornhusker fan self yet.

But no one cares about this. Good luck to Texas in their search.

                      • I personally don't care about Nebraska. They shot themselves in the foot moving to the conference up north as they will ow struggle to recruit from Texas and the south. They've been irrelevant for almost a decade and likely will be irrelevant for the foreseeable future. It's tough to care about an irrelevant football program.

                        • Having lived in Nebraska for 3 years I tried hard to become a huskers fan. I was there during the early post-Osborne years. One of my best buddies during grad school had multiple national championship rings from his time as a rush end during the mid 90s. Unfortunately, becoming a fan never really stuck, even with the cougars doing their best to push me that direction ( exhibit A : the Kevin Feterick years). I'm a cougar man, through and through, with the huskers and KSU wildcats (born in manhattan) as a very distant 2nd and 3rd place in my rankings.

I would rather lose every game forever than have a dirtbag like Urban Meyer coaching a school I cared about.

Lol. ... utah going 25-2 during his two years was awesome. 2004 saw Utah beat every team by at least two tds. Not only that it was the 2003 team that ended byu's most precious record. He raised a boatload of money for the school and was a big part of Utah being in the Pac 12. My only regret is that he wasn't at Utah longer.
